Your best bet would easily be as many others have said; a couple of Neodymium magnets. Chances are they will easily do the job for anything up to a prop weapon of Spartan Laser/Gravity Hammer sizes and weights really. And to ensure the weapons aren't magnetised, don't use magnets in the weapons...
