The visors are very flexible, you should be able to bend it and put it in the bottom of the helm, don't try to put it through where the visor is suppose to be. And you will need a dremel so I would just buy one now, rather than later.

It's actually liquid gold leaf. It's like paint, but with liquifized gold leafs stuffs.

You can always sand it off, but be ready to go through alot of sand paper.

I've heard of someone heating up a rock, then pressing it up against the side where you want a realistic looking bullet pock mark. (I have not tested this)

*Update* So I filled the holes with glass, bondo, did sanding and made some more holes. I also took your advice Link and painted a primer to bring up the raised ridges. I worked better than I thought. To Do List Primer Coat of glass
