Hey everyone, Ive been looking for a way to get good videos in first person with my camera and I just can not find out how. Ive googled it and nothing that I want comes up and I cant think of anything on my own. i just wanted to know if anyone else has had this problem or if anyone knows how to build something that will hold the camera up on your shoulder while you run around or whatever you want to do with both hands free. Ive tried those weird bendy tripods but they just dont stay on your shoulder very well. I know about the helmet cam things you can but but Im sure they are either bad quality or cost alot. Im looking for a way to build something like this.

most head cams range in the 200 and up range. you could try a snake cam but those are just as expensive and are very low quality. i have one but its a sports one and its about 500$ and its not all to nice to wear but great for snowboarding vids!

The one im trying to mount is just my little Canon Powershot SD600. it screws onto the normal sized tripod-screw on screw.

Maybe this can help...
Its made of pvc piping, its not the nicest drawing ive done in paint but it only took me 10 minutes to come up with. Hope it helps :D

that could work but I was planning on doing videos of things like running and stuff like that so it might be a little big and get in the way. or just break because I trip or something...

well you could always make a dolly or something like it. or just have a cloverfeild look to it could work also!

now this may not be what your looking for but they are alternatives to sticking a camera to your body and get decent shots with them.. unless your running around and whatnot doing high speed things thn you would need a head cam. but it all depends on how your film is being made.

why don't you try using a hiking/camping backpack. OR an army molly bag with the metal frame. You could easily find a way to mount the camera to either as there would be either cloth or metal to attach it to and they would both be very securely attached to your person.

you could take a bike helmet and drill a hole in the top then glue a tripod screw into the hole. It might be a little top heavy, but it could work for what you are trying to do.

the backpack thing was what I was trying to do originally so I might go and buy a cheapish one that has somewhat of a metal frame and attach the camera tripod screw on thing.

i would suggest doing this

" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="630" height="350"></embed></object>

im gonna mount one of these inside my helmet when im done... would be cool recording people while they are taking pics of you

I saw that somewhere a while ago, I think I might actually try that, the quality looks good enough and it wouldnt get in the way like most everything would.
