Bio: Growing up on Earth Gabriel wanted to be just like every other boy since the dawn of civilization, a warrior. Gabriel grew up in his youth wanting to be a marine, then a ODST, and finally settled on wanting to be a longsword pilot when he hit his mid teens. The desire to fight only grew greater when the covenant attacked earth this only instilled more that desire to serve a greater cause.
Gabriel joined the UNSC as soon as he was able when he turned 18. Gabriel had to very useful genetic advantages on his side as well that he thought would make him a shoe in for the flight program and later on a commander. Gabriel has an extremely efficient immune system, bones heal twice as fast, sicknesses overcome as well, toxins (Alcohol) having no lasting effect in normal quantities. Several tests were run on Gabriel to find out why, and no answer could be found other than the fact that it just is; no noticeable difference in leukocytes compared to other humans, no abnormal pulse rate, normal performing mitochondria, and normal blood workup. The other advantage Gabriel has is he is quick, very quick mentally. Perhaps derived from his level of intelligence or what ever factor lead him to that, but before most even have time to think of the problem Gabriel has got three answers and\or made a very poignant point in retort; mentally he’s fast anyways, just because his brain knows what is going on or what he sees doesn’t mean he can make his body move any faster than anyone else.
During the aptitude tests though he scored far from what they wanted for pilots. Gabriel’s intelligence score put him in a large range of trainable skills, but even more it was his psychological evaluation that put him out of any possible combat or command cast; he tested with a high proclivity to not follow the chain of command, not having a willingness to sacrifice himself or fellow soldiers, and an unwillingness to play by the book if he thought he had a better idea.
So to his disappointment at first the UNSC put Gabriel in the medical training program where he graduated 3rd in the overall graduating class for that year and has worked on wounded brethren since.
