man forgive me if im reasking a question, but are you able to see at all? im planning on doing an emile costume myself here.

one thing i must say - easily the best painted skull i've seen. too many good emile costumes that i think look a little off because improperly painted skulls

I was able to see- but in some lighting conditions it was... Difficult. That was a really quick and dirty paint method for the chrome and it could have been done more precisely. The new ones I'm making are much clearer than the original.

I'm looking to start a new build, but I was wondering if I should go with foam or pepakura... Exactly how durable is a foam build?

It's not as durable as a pep fiberglass build. Repairs are a constant. Speaking of wear...
Here are some new pics of this kit!

Now this is the type of suit build I'd do a shoot with! :thumbsup Impressively proportional helmet-to-chest ratio, and even overall aspect ratio to a certain extent. It seems like the plain undersuit is less make-or-break than usual because of the effort put into the proportionality of the exterior, for some reason. Nice.

The background is as chaotic as Emile's helmet. Great work in completing the build and kudos on the 98% accuracy. ;)
I'll second RobTC's statement on the undersuit; the exterior is superb!

Question about painting that visor:

Did you spray the inside with that gold metallic paint first, then spray the looking glass over the top (inside) of that? I'm wanting to get vacuum forming in the next project, but I've not seen a very good tutorial yet and your method seems to yield beautiful results with minimal equipment. There is a half decent one on youtube, but i don't airbrush too well and would love to know there's an off the shelf option that works.

Emile has been my fav go-to since Reach came out. Best portrayal of his kit I have ever seen. Very well done!

Hey, sorry missed your comment! I'm hardly ever on 405th anymore so I miss that kind of stuff.

The visor in the older posts is krylon gold paint lightly dusted and then followed by krylon looking glass. I like the look a lot, but it lacks in visibility. The newer helmet (professional shoot with graffiti background) has a yellow tinted visor with airbrushed chrome behind it. Visibility is much much better, but does require some more equipment and practice to pull off. Hope that helps, post your progress when you do it!

Build turned out amazing. the amount of detail and proportions are spot on. Seeing builds like this do give hope that being detailed enough will make it turn out beautiful.
