I am new to the scene and I am wondering if I am on a low budget and have little to no craft skills, how would I go about making a helm for myself. I have the idea all sketched out, it is very similar to Spartan Locke. All I will have for materials is probably cardboard and very low quality lights and such. I just really need some help with how I should go about this.

you can do pepakura which is fairly cheap or you can do foam templates

Finally done with the construction of the chest/back. Waiting for the paint to dry so I can add the lights and such.

Looking forward to tomorrow, going to take it for a test run at trick or treat town. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1445667338.855439.jpg

Folks, its fun sometimes to joke around, but please respect the thread starters wishes and keep the thread on topic. Much appreciated!

Working on getting the correct style of helmet for Tex, got the pep done yesterday, and am hoping this weekend to get some fiber glass & resin in it.

On another note quick question:

For the lights in the thighs shoulders and chest what type of lights do you use?

I've used strings of LEDs, and Christmas lights in the past, and I am using Christmas lights for the back part, however what do you guys use to light up those small areas like the thighs and shoulders?

For smaller areas like the thighs and shoulders, I've used LED booklights that are self contained and you can find them at the dollar store.

I know people who wire their own LEDs or use finger lights that you can buy off of Amazon in bulk packages as well.

Here is a link to a bulk pack for a variety of LED finger lights. It's a big pack for a small price and you'll have plenty of lights for whatever future projects you may have.

I've taken Saber's advice and got some finger lights, those combined with the new shiny chrome screens I've made, the look amazing. Speaking of amazing, I've made new thighs and will be working on new shoulders tonight and tomorrow. I've got a fun kids event on the 15th where I'm hoping to get new and better pictures.

If I have enough time I'm going to try to make a neck seal as well...

looking cool :D Always loved how the CE armour is bulky and later armours were just, well, parts :b Good luck with the rest :)

Thanks Mesh!

I started on the shoulders yesterday, and spent about 4 hours working on the shoulders (pulling the old one apart and getting it sized right). And another 2-3 hours (with plenty of faffing about) and I got the neck seal done. I'm pretty pleased with how it's turned out.

I got erios to take a few pictures yesterday and I love the way it turned out. Had issues with my shoulders wanting to spin around, but we did a bandaid fix for the 6 hours we were there. Now I just have to figure out how to get them to stop trying to roll...
