Hopefully this is the first step in me being more active on the forums :)

The turret will be based on Benton Samec's designs, with Eric Lobb's modifications and a few changes of mine. Eric was kind enough to supply me with the internal pieces to make the turret spin.

So my basic plan: make a Halo 3 turret with the Halo 5 SPNKr Prime paint scheme

I was originally planning on doing the SPNKr and go pretty far, but realized it would be covering my security shoulder at all times
Anyway, I'm currently cutting the pvc pipping, so enjoy these reference shots until I get some progress made :)

Aw man! This thread is what I have been needing! You have some amazing reference photos, and you seek like you have it all down. I am curious on these internal mechanics you mentioned are, because I got pretty far in a H3 turret build, but never finished it because I didnt have a good enough drill to take apart to use. That and it got incredibly heavy since a foam base with metal lazy Susan's and front heavy PVC kept weighing it down. Thanks to contact cement the seams never ripped. Also, these colors are gonna be beutiful. If only this beutiful beast shot spanked prime rockets o.0

Minor update, currently scaling everything. Going for something much more manageable and not "Spartan" size. Can't imagine dragging around a 7-feet long turret at cons

Thank you! Like the builds I'm basing my build on, I'm using a Apollo screwdriver for the spinning function. Lobb was nice enough to print me internals that would hold the pvc piping and allow it all to spin with that particular screwdriver:

there's also an end cap to hold the screwdriver, but I don't have an image of it at the moment

This looks sweet! I plan on making one of these for my ODST! Just curious, what size pvc pipe are you using for this?

4" by 18" for the body, 1" by 35" for the barrels. Keep in mind this is a smaller scale turret, as the full scale turret is like 7 feet long xD

Surprise, this project isn't dead just yet!

With everyone I know making to scale turrets, I decided I had to up my game! I'm going to use the same concept as the build above, but just make it bigger. Here's my current progress on the model:

Also made a rough draft of the shields

More to come (hopefully!)

Felipe06, as much as I love the project and it is coming out amazing........please be mindful of what you post. Even though there are asterisks covering some of the letters, this is not appropriate, and ask to edit it out the meme. Thank you.
