Eh, I would have done a Hi-def model instead, or something more smooth than that.
But do what you want, fiberglass it, and bondo it until smooth.

pardon? what is the "fin thing"
I think he means those intake things along the top.
Doesn't look backwards to me, but it''s hard to tell from that angle.
That pep seems to have a pretty good amount of detail as well, so if it's scaled to fit you and you want to resin and glass it go ahead.
Unless you don't plan on wearing it...

Yeah, the finns are the wrong way around =/
It's a solid work, but unless you want to spend alot of time with the details (or just leave them out)
I would recomend using a high definition model.

But dont trash this helmet! I still recomend using it to practice your fiberglassing skills, since it's not a piece of cake
And who knows, it could turn out to be great!

It looks good to me, I just finished this model. I have to say I like it, and if you want add the floating faces from the FS model. They make the helm a little bit more detailed. Yeah go ahead, definitely resin that. Keep us posted!

it IS wrong.

not that they're facing the wrong way... but they're up instead of down.

They should be sunk in the top not popping out of it.

specifically, the first 2.

Is it just me who took that as being quite harsh and potentially nasty?
Your maybe right, your maybe wrong, I don't know, but c'mon, the helmet looks awesome to me.
And I'm sure you didn't mean it to come across as harsh.

The only suggestion I could make is to maybe resin the exterior to make the helmet rigid then use a dremel cutting tool to remove the fins and then glue a straight piece of paper. You could then resin the new paper and glass the helmet and build the fins back up with Bondo. The other choice is remove the fins before you resin with a very sharp craft knife and put a replacement fill in piece in then resin. The only downside of doing this is you could cause warping in the helmet.

As much as its a pain in the back side I'd consider either redoing the helmet again or trying the HD model. I guess if you have some time on your hands it would not hurt to try and fix this one though...

On a positive note, apart from the top fins the rest of the folds look nice enough!

im with shagga on this one, the helmet looks awesome and i would def fiberglass it!. but before you do so use an exacto knife and cut those luvers (fins) out str8 lines! and then just print out the new luvers and install them correctly with hot glue. then glass away!

:( oh well, i guess this one will have to de a "trophy" (if you would call it that) adn ile go for the high def model...

and if anyone would be so kind as to post a link to the high def model? cuz actuly i thought this one WAS the high def model :p

thx guise for the constructive critiscism

Possibly just you, my intent wasnt to be harsh or nasty, and it wasnt even directed at the OP.
It was simply emphisising conformation as to weather or not something wasnt right, as afew of the posters were saying either yes, no or unsure.

I dont disagree with you, it has been well buit, its just a shame about those 2 points that are the oppisite fold.

My suggestion would be to unstick the area and force it to invert, or, cut out the peices, re print/cut and replace those specific panels. No need to trash the whole thing when it can be repaired.

But I wouldnt advise going any further till its been corrected.

P.S: I just dont suggar coat things and I call it like I see it, always constructive critisim, never destructive.

You're doing it wrong.

All you have to do is just try to push the fins inwards with your finger. If they won't budge, then just leave it like that.

I aint doing anything wrong, its not my helmet. If your saying its not possible to fix it the way I've said then fair enough, personally I disagree with you on that point. What I would say is pushing the fins in would not fix it either, although it would get rid of the bulge allowing you to fix in the bondo stage, assuming you didn't warp the top.
