Well... myself and two friends decided that we'd get on board with this.

This is from awhile ago, but I figured I'd at least share with everyone who's been kind enough to share.

One of my friends gets to take credit for the Hayabusa... I stuck with the Mark VI. :)

*sigh*

Here's an attachment. :)

Here are some more... It's slow-goin', especially with things like work.

Anyone wanna mow my lawn? :)

its lookin good are you using the tape instead of glue?

Thanks!

Yeah. it holds really well, and it gives you time to adjust how everything is placed.

The only thing I've found is that if you're going to wait awhile before applying resin, it will start to slip in places.

i suppose its cheap eh? would taping both sides give a little extra support?

Yep... I'm taping both sides. It's really quite sturdy.

But like I said... if it sits too long, some of the pieces will pull away from each other.

My buddy used rubber cement on his hayabusa helmet, for the most part. I suggested the tape when he was piecing the final bits together, and it worked really well for him.

Slowly but surely... Here's my progress.

I somehow managed to convince my wife to help out with the resin-ing. :) She's a trooper.

I'll keep updating as progress is made.

And thanks, Dave!

I might be a bit concered about using just tape to hold it but if you plan on glassing it soon shouldn't be an issue looking good man

Friend, be brave and adventurous, tape might sound weird, and cheap, but when working on bugget, thats a way to go, heck, i use the mighty 7 ELEVEN White glue for my SPI Helmet and im currently finishing my MARK VI using it (white glue) can't wait to see the results of your work, i'll post some of mine soon.

Lookin good. Tape is a good method but u can get super glue 3 for a dollar at ne dollar store mostly. Lets kno how it turn when u resin it

It's not a cost thing... More of an "ease of use" thing when assembling.

It's holding really well. I had the helmet sitting un-resined for about a month and a half. I think the weight of the paper caused the helmet to start to sag moreso than the tape giving out.

Anyway, it's resin'ed (and photog'ed earlier in this thread), as is the full torso piece (no photo of that).

I'm planning on applying resin to the calf and foot pieces this weekend.

Well... progress is a good thing!

With any luck, I should be resining these over the weekend, and hopefully performing a little fiberglass action on my helmet and/or torso armor.

Got to the resin process on most of it.
