so if someone can just point me in the direction...... or tell me... that would be sweet... thanx :D

If you check the stickies in the noob forum, that should help you out a lot. How I scale depends on the part. I did my shoulders by width, my helmet by height etc. I use whichever dimension seems to best determine the size of the peice. Some parts you can leave unaltered. If you do the low def testers first that will help. Check the stickies at the top of the noob forum, read through them and the other related threads and that will help. A little trial and error doesn't hhurt either. Building a part a few times helps you do it better. I pepped my thighs 5 times before I got it right because my legs are bigger than normal, so it took time and effort to find what works. But it is definitely satisfying once you get it figured out. Hope that helps.

xtreme tactics has a good thread on how to determin scale. Check it out:

Xtreme's scaling tutorial

I've posted an excel sheet in that thread to helpd determine the math. It's not perfect but it is a good start.

A word of caution if you are trying to get a proportional costume you need to use the same scaling method for all the pieces. So if you scale by width you need to scale everthing by width. But I've noticed that scaling by height works better for suits that are built in proper proportion.

Check out the Wiki's too there is alot of good information in there about getting started.

Well, I am going to assume that you have pepakura v3.

Here is how I do my scaling........

First off, I measure myself for the armor piece that I am doing. For the helmet, shoulders, forearms, thighs and shins, I measured for the height. For the helmet, I added 2 extra inches to leave room for padding and stuff. For my belt, handpieces and torso, I measured for width.

Once I have all my measurements, I convert it to mm. I use this site: http://www.convertunits.com/from/inches/to/mm to convert my inches to mm because I suck at math! lol Anyways, once in the pepakura program, I input my mm conversions into the correct box. If I measured it for height, I put the number in the height box and if it was for width, I put it in the width box. Then just rearrange my pieces and print! :D

I have not really had any problems with my stuff. So far, I have only had to make a second torso since I went 2 inches too small, everything else has been fine. :)

Maybe that will give you an idea on how to scale, but everyone seems to have different ways to do it.
