ATL / GA Battalion

Hey everyone!

I wanted to start this thread to gauge interest in forming an ATL/GA battalion. With the number of conventions and events we have in the area, it feels like a great opportunity to bring folks together and start showing up as a group.

We already have several deployed members nearby, plus plenty of others who aren’t deployed (yet ), and I think uniting under one banner could really strengthen our presence. Beyond conventions, this would give us more chances to connect, engage with the community, and help bring more people into the 405th fold.

I’m personally very excited about the idea, and I believe it’s something we can absolutely make work if the group is on board. Looking forward to hearing everyone’s thoughts and feedback!

I’d love to be apart I live in Buford some I’m close to atl

I want to remind everyone that in order to be part of a Battalion you must be regiment added first so anyone not meeting their 90 days and 50 posts would currently be ineligible.

I highly recommend that someone interested in leading this group generate a list of committed names and Officers to submit. We have a Battalion Request application in the requests area.Your Battalion must be approved by division. The best way to achieve this is to have a full slate of members and a name for your Battalion. I would hope given the area and number of Atlanta members this list would exceed 20 at minimum. Committed groups for longevity sake is what we want and need. I do belive that Atlanta has a shot at being a beacon in Southern.

I will be watching. Make me proud kids!

Thanks for the input and encouragement, Asgardianhammer! This idea is still in its early stages, but I’m excited to see it grow. Once we have our members gathered, I plan to start organizing some of the items mentioned in a structured way. I truly believe ATL has a strong chance of becoming a cornerstone for the Southern Regiment, and I’m looking forward to watching this all come together.

To clarify for everyone: as we move forward, I’d like to open the floor for suggestions on a Battalion name. Eventually, we can hold a group vote so that our name reflects everyone’s voice. We’ll also need to establish our battalion staff once the foundation is in place. With those details finalized, I plan to submit everything through the official battalion request application.

That said, I’d like to go ahead and put forward the first name suggestion: Terminus.

For those who may not know, Atlanta has long carried the nickname “Terminus.” In the mid-1800s, the city was founded as a major railroad hub, the end point—or terminus—of several lines. The name represents a place of connection, convergence, and movement, which I think reflects our community perfectly. We’re a gathering point for builders and fans alike, and from here we can branch out in many directions, just as Atlanta itself has done.

I’d love to hear everyone’s thoughts, suggestions, and other name ideas. Let’s make this something that represents us all!
