So I have been making armor pieces for about a year now (Mostly chest pieces) and Ive been wanting to get into building weapons using the foam method that I use to make my armor. I decided to follow the turtorial from Back yard FX for the 30 cal MG. found https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tYDji5HPd5Y here.

I have worked with these materials before but the problem that I have is that the main Indy Mogul website has been offline for a while now ( Leave the internet for a few days and see what happens.) and I cant find a template for the gun's main housing. If any of you know where to look for a template for this project Please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

In the future, questions of this nature should be asked either in the "HELP!!! For XXXX" threads at the top of the page, or in the 3d modeling requests thread over in the 3d sub forum. It helps veterans, staff and other helpers easily find and answer questions. I happen to be here late at night killing time, and since I've posted a reply already, I'd might as well pitch in with some help beyond "Post in an existing thread!" (Though your future questions really should be posted in the help threads, it helps us help you!).

I don't know much about the site you're seeking, but if you are looking for templates or something to work with in the downtime for that site, or on the chance the site never comes back up, you have some options... I did a quick search and found some pretty good 3d models of the piece floating around. You could take that and build templates for it from those, or I also saw a lot of cool diagrams and blueprints you can use to make a template also..

I can't personally speak for the legit street cred of those links, but it's a starting point. It's unlikely anyone here will have the specific files you originally used (but never know! Definitely post in the 3d sub forum about this if you need to), so looking into an alternative source for the templates will be necessary. If you want an unfold like a lot of people do for foam templates here, you can get a 3d model of the gun and run it through pep designer and create them yourself!

Sorry for the confusion. I have only posted here once before so Im still getting a feel for the site lol.

Thanks for all your help, I may end up simply creating my templates by hand and going off of reference photos. Did that for my NCR Veteran Ranger build and it worked out alright.

Protoman,
I'm into airsoft and have followed a couple of guys that have M2 and Browning 1919 replica builds. Killbucket knows his stuff. He sells a 1919 kit, but he also advertises his CAD files for all of his replicas, including the 1919 for $16. Reputable guy, probably money well spent. Find him here: http://www.killbuckets.com/m19body.htm

Replica Plans also sells plans for the 1919 at $9.99. He has lots of good photos of his builds. He's here: http://www.replicaplans.com/Browning30.html

Good luck,

Cannot emphasize this enough. Killbucket is pretty much the sole reason I am where I am today. He had the patience to walk me through my first 100% airsoft-ready gun build and the humility to give me one of the best and most encouraging constructive critiques I've ever gotten when I finished. Side note, his VSS Vintorez plans are sick. And free. Though they require a very particular airsoft gun as their core, even if you're making an inert prop.

On the other hand, the DIY route is immensely respectable and terribly badass. Massive props for that! Will watch the film when I'm on a connection that will support it.
