Building first pepakura suit!

I am new to pepakura and I need advice on cutting out and assembling armor, I seem to be able to cut it out fairly well but I keep messing up the folding and assembly. Any advice or tips on how I can improve my folding and assembly on big and especially small pepakura pieces? And does anymore recommend a certain armor set to build as first? that may be easier or more understandable?

Have you tried "scoring" the paper? "Scoring" the paper really helps when you want to fold paper. It just requires a ruler and an Xacto knife. Use the other side of the knife to "score", or slightly indent the paper, which makes it a whole lot easier to fold
