and another good thing is that while i was out getting the brushes n stuff, i found some more superglue! XD so i should be able to finish the right shoulder piece out sometime soon (Y)

shes a beaut. it does look nice in ur place. nice job on the resin looks like nothing warped.
keep it up!!! looking for more updates :D

thanks its only a terrace house haha but cheers i love making this ive wanted to do this for so long and now i have abit more time than i did high school now im in college (cos i have wednesday study days but i make the most of both work and entertainment) im surprised nothing warped tbh because the hardener here in the UK is more like a paste kinda like the bondo hardener in the states im really happy how this turned out, next step fibreglassing (for the helmet still need to glue the shoulder)
but after may/june there should be loads of updates until about september

Helmet looks great :) , you did good on the fiberglassing!!

* HERES A GOOD QUESTION FOR SOMEONE TO ANSWER FOR ME AND YOU*****

If you do great on the fiberglassing step as chiefy has done- do you have to sand away the paper?
**because my new helmet looks great and I bearly had to sand down into the helmet at all.... just wondering yall's thoughts for both me and chiefy's future progress :)

thanks man just waiting for a good day to do the inside of it and need another surface to glue on so i can finish my shoulder piece :) and thats a good question actually i was just going to put body filler on it anyway in the cracks and to smooth the edges out a little :) but will i need to.... hmmmmmm.....

well... my helmet has BONDO/RESIN on the inside of the paper... and has a thin coat of RESIN outside, the resin didn't cover it very well... but if I sand into the paper it starts to rip or tear... and then i must sand all the paper away in order for this to not be noticeable ....... ( SO i've decided to stop messing with it and probably just paint it =P or put bondo on the warped/must places...)

I thought about putting another coat of FIBERGLASS RESIN on the outside.... maybe =P

Hopefully other people will have had this problem and would love to answr =D

I sand into the paper all the time, You clean the edges. I do this with fine sand paper and primer filler. :cool
*** EDITE ***
I figured I come back and add a little more to this fix for those whom need/want to know how to fix this.

When sanding down into the paper you're most likely using a 80-100 grit sand paper to knock it down fast. So after you're done with cleaning up the lines there will be a few things you need to do.
1.) Prime the area, this will seal it.
2.) Next use a fine 200 grit sand or higher to clean up the paper edges.
3.) now is the time to use a sandable primer and/or primer filler (heavy Primer) this will fill in any of those fine line/pit left over from the sanding.
4.) at this stage I personally use a 400-500 grit sandpaper moving it in small circles to buff out any and all imperfections.

While this may sound like allot of work it's still way faster and easier then the caking bondo on it method.:cool

Ive finally got the hardboard!!!! (that had my helmet drying on) and got the rest of the right shoulder glued after i got back from doing revision at college (during my holiday too ¬_¬ the things i do for people eh...) but im quite pleased with it the project will even move with me to scotland when i visit my aunty this weekend (Y)

Looks nice, I suggest taking your time pepping, the more time into Pepping you take, the less you spend grumbling and sanding.

Apologies for no update over the weekend it was kinda busy doing stuff in scotland, i got most of the forearm cut out but i didnt want to rush it and ruin my progress quality so far :') should have it done at sometime soon i hope though (Y)

Thanks haha :p Should be finished today WOOT!, thats if i remember where i put the superglue... but its almost done at least :')

Forearm done FINALLY!, i didnt think it would be anywhere near as awkward as the shoulder or helmet but it was.. but it still turned out alright :D! there were a few little glitches in the smaller tabs in it but im sure thats nothing body filler and sanding cant solve, I forgot to get a picture of me actually wearing it but it does fit and i dont want to try it again because a tab ripped a little last time and i had to reglue it. all in all i have two limbs complete and im very happy with it all so far (Y)

Thanks dude and yea ill definately try this to save myself some time, i will use some body filler because some of the small tabs are a little messy and i will need to sand the shape into those parts :)

( you can actually see on the last picture the bottom of the forearm some of it has ripped a little when i took it off my arm, paper rips very easily in the UK compared to american card stock methinks)

Thanks Thorn :) I have applied that to my helmet.. it turns out pretty good =P
It does take awhile though... and my fingers are black from all the paint that comes off... other then that good method * 2 Thumps up **
Chiefy your Shoulder and Forearm look like they are scaled right!! ( Not sure if they are scaled to you..) They look pretty good laying on the ground though =P Haha, keep it up!! And good luck on Fiberglassing the shoulder... ( my is very flimsey ) * I'm alittle nervous about fiberglassing my shoulder... need to add some supports somehow first...

Thanks for the feedback guys i appreciate it! And yea the forearm fits and I'm pretty sure shoulder is right but wont start the other arm till its hardened and tested. Because the the shoulder is very flimsy and I need the supports that were in the pep so sadly i won't find out till after its hardened lol
