Con report: Dutch Comic Con Winter 2025
Last year InterfectorF bumblebarq and I went to Dutch comic con as visitors. It was fun, so this year we returned....with a booth! And reinforcements
Basic booth decoration on Friday, the evening before the con. Big thanks to InterfectorF for tracing the Halo 1 flags so I could get them printed in time!
Like any con this one had its share of last-minute projects
But, we made it and our delegation of spartans and ODSTs, accompanied by a marine and an ONI scientist was ready to man the booth Saturday morning
We sent some spartans on patrol
Our photowall was growing
Our ODST was conducting an important survey about Red vs Blue
And I had a cup of tea
We had some minor flood-related incidents
We warned our ONI scientist that a single flood spore could destroy a species. "Noted" he said.
This did seem to worry our ODST however
Luckily one of our spartans rose to the challenge and introduced the spore to some pink mist
Had to take a selfie after that heroic demonstration
And then had a professional take a much better picture
Our ODST meanwhile went off in search of allies, muttering something about democracy
Turns out our ODSTs found some common ground
The words "democratic detonation" may have been mentioned
This seems to be a common favorite across species....
And time periods
Perhaps even medieval?
The meetup was a success
We also met some people who didn't seem all that bothered about the gravemind or the flood
All-in we had a great weekend
Despite ONI censoring our group picture
