I wanted to ask if someone has a good idea for a cosplay made by using 3D Printers? Most people would say ODST but are there any other options? Is a Mark V from Halo: REACH possible for a beginner?
You’re definitely on the right track, ODST gets recommended a lot, because there is less that seems to have to go with it, but honestly any armor can be a good first build if you take it one piece at a time.
My first build is going to be Noble Six / Mark V from Reach, and I don’t really see it as more or less commitment than other Spartan armor. ODST might have fewer or simpler pieces, but at the end of the day all of them take time, planning, and patience.
If you’re looking for other options though, I’d still recommend Mark VII. It’s newer, really popular in the community right now, and it’s super modular. You can swap helmets, shoulders, chests, etc., and still have everything feel cohesive. I myself intend to do one in the future too.
Mark VII also works well for 3D printing since a lot of the files are designed to be modular, so you can start small and build out over time without locking yourself into one exact configuration.
I think the biggest thing is just picking an armor you’re excited about, that’s what actually keeps the build moving.
