Hey Everyone,
As most people know, 100% of the hotels near D*Con are full. There might be some people out there that might be willing to help and let 1-2 people stay in their room (if big enough). That was one of the question that is on the official D*Con Registry Post. Many said that they wouldn't mind.

Name: Jared Warren aka JediStumpy
Location/Transportation: Indiana, Driving
Number of people: 2-3
Nights staying: Friday night, 8/29, Saturday night, 8/30, Sunday night, 8/31

I am looking for a room. I will have 2 (or 3) people in my group (includeing me). Everyone over 21
I am willing to sleep on the floor no problems!!
Will help split the cost per night.
The dates I am looking for:
Check-in: Friday night, 8/29
Saturday night, 8/30
Sunday night, 8/31
Check-out: Monday, 9/1

Any willing please help me out. They are other hotels that are in Atlanta but very far away from D*Con but cheaper, but I would like to be close. Host hotels and overflow hotel are the ones I am looking for:

Host:
Atlanta Hilton
Hyatt Regency Atlanta
Marriott Marquis Atlanta
Sheraton Atlanta Hotel

Over Flow:
Baymont Suites
Days Inn
The Glenn Hotel
Holiday Inn
Westin Hotel
Wyndham

Also anyone feel free to also use this topic for Hotel help as well.
Please let other people know if you can help out! They more people we can get there the better it will be for everyone who is apart of the 405th and let everyone who isn't let them know who we are and that we are here to stay!
Thanks!

Hey, Stumpy, I'm in a bit of a bind too. I found a hotel 5 blocks from the host hotels that has room, but they're largest room is 3 people, which fortunately happens to be how many people I'm bringing including myself. It will cost about $280 for 29th, 30th, and 31st.

I'd be more than happy to split a room in one of the host hotels if my party's half would be about $280. Let me know, I'm very interested.

Well...hey, what hotel has rooms left?
also All the host hotels are booked up all weekend. we can't get a room anymore (maybe). also is $280 and total cost for 3 nights or do you mean $280 per night? hotels charge per night, so when they say $280 for the room they mean per night.
More info please would help me out. I called today Days Inn, Holiday Inn, and the Wyndham. they all said they are full.
If we can work something out that would be great, if not at least we tried. but could you please give me the name of the hotel you found with rooms? thanks bud!

I'm looking for hotel too if that makes it any better...

if you can get one i would be happy to split the cost with you if that is what you are looking for...

Go on Travelocity and look for hotels in Atlanta, and put in Castleberry as part of the hotel name. It's called the Castleberry Inn, and it's $78 a night with 3 people in a room, so $280 for 3 nights. If you look at the map of it, one of the Dragon*Con bus routes stops to the east of Spring St. Glad to help btw.

I found the Castleberry. good rate but the reveiws sad it was really bad. ("scary"). Also the DC bus route isn't that close to the hotel. but it could work there are other hotels around there too. I think some phone call are in order. we could always get a cheap hotel a bit away and drive into downtown each morning. ? let me know what you find. thanks buddy!

Hey also, call everyday/every week to the hotels as much as you as time to Dcon grows closer. I know from a lot of events and trips that as the event gets closer more and more people cancel their plans and reservations. So if you can get lucky, that's a great way to get into a great room at the main and overflow hotels.

@ Stumpy: Ya, I'll keep calling around and see what I can dig up. I'm on a real tight budget so the Castleberry's looking like the best deal right now for me anyhow. I'm driving in from Missouri, so I'll just have to drive to the con each day, so a little distance isn't a big deal.

Heres an Idea, you should rip the X button of the xbox controller and use it as the magazine release button for the gun. So in the game its X to reload and in real life its still X to reload :)
rofl, i live in atlanta! free staying!!!!!

Yeah, If we do end up in the same place we could car pool somehow. Yah keep calling i guess. I would rather not drive too much and just walk or bus everywhere. walking to each Convention would be easier and having all you stuff near and a close place to store it would be nice.
keep up the good work!

Thanks Rob!

Also:
Please, anyone who doesn't have a full room please let everyone know if you are willing to help us out.
I know there are many more like me in the same spot. I know there are other hotels away from downtown that still have room but being in one of the host or overflow hotels will be a lot easier and way more fun. ((Would you want 100+ Spartans there!?!?))

I'm staying in the Georgian Terrace(sp?). It's about 0.7 miles from the action(I've walked farther to classes everyday in college). There's really only one bed, and it's supposed to be for only two people, but perhaps you could try calling them to see if there's a room open. I got my reservation there through Priceline.com.

I just booked this morning at the Georgia Tech Hotel on Spring Street. It's like a mile away from the Peachtree Center so I'm going to either walk down or park around the Hyatt in the public garage.

I guess that makes me going official now ;D

Now I just need to tell my fiance' that I booked....

Thanks for posting what you found. I found that there are a few hotels left with a few rooms left that are less than 1 mile away so walking wouldn't be that bad. Parking might be a nightmare since i'm sure many many people are planning on parking in a public garage.
thanks Vexona

Np.

Yeah I figured we could try to find parking somewhere but that if it didn't work out, then it's within walking distance at least :)

I think the parking fee at the GT Hotel is $10 btw, which is average/below average in comparison with the others. Some of the host hotels were valet only and that stuff is spensy ;_; I wouldn't have been able to afford something like that hehe.

Oh snaps! Umm I get employee discount at Carlson/Radisson Hotels if there are any around there. I didnt even think to check.

I looked around some more and there are other hotels that are about 2-5 miles away that have really good price $60-100 per night. I guess my new idea would be to stay there and drive into downtown every morning, bring lunch, costumes, change of clothes, everything you need in your car/van/suv and kinda just "camp" there for the day.

Also the parade is on Saturday morning, correct?
