Making an Elite Assassination Blade to be worn by as part of my Spartan Costume.

If Emile can carve a skull into his faceplate, why can't I take a trophy from the elite I just killed?

This just looking freaking awesome! Great progress so far, I cant wait to see it completed!

wow......honestly i just noticed that the elites use this a few days ago....just never really paid attention to it....awesome work!

Wow, the mechanism looks... complicated... This looks like an interesting build, can't wait to see the finished piece, as well as the motion.

Can I ask if you can do a hand to assassination blade reference? cause it looks as big as a forearm in your pics, but it's so awesome! you must have played with K'nex when you were a kid didn't you? lol

Here you go . . .

If it looks a little too big on me, that's because I deliberately kept the scale for Elite to human arm the same. (Plus having a bigger gauntlet means I can fit a bigger blade inside.)

And to answer your question, SpartanT117, I played with both Legos and K'nex. I still use them on occasion: I recently used my K'nex to prototype the Dutch Windmill my mom commissioned for her water-garden.

The picture of the Elite officer shows the blade protruding out of the handplate, did you put it in the guantlet because it won't fit inside your handplate? and wow, that's some mad K'nexin skills!!

Well spotted: the in-game blade does in fact come out of the elite's hand plate. I had to trade a little accuracy for the effect of having a retractable blade. The Elite Officer forearm was the only one big enough to fit the entire mechanism for both making the blade move and having it light up. (I'm still working on that last part)

Also, if I tried to make a blade fit inside a hand-plate, the blade wouldn't extend past my fingertips. Using the gauntlet to store the blade allowed for one that is much longer: Full length of gauntlet vs full length of hand-plate.

Ok, I figured it would be somewhat in that respect. it's still absolutely amazing though, I like how you have the ingenuity to create such things, it's really awesome!

That is truly amazing. Is that the blade you are going to use when finished, or something else?

The current blade is just for testing, roughly cut from sheet styrene. The final blade will be laser cut from clear acrylic, lightly airbrushed, and lit with tiny LED's along the edge.

(The LEDs come from a strand of battery operated Christmas lights, and are some of the smallest LED's I've ever seen.)

Creating the blade will probably be the last step for this project.

Very Ingenious!!!! sounds awesome, can't wait to see the finished project!
and btw, if you ever want me to do any special effects shots with your Gauntlet, just let me know!

It looks really big. but i suppose that elites are huge. You could make it less heavy and complex by putting it on a drawer slide with an extension spring attached to the blade, locking mech at the end. Thats how i made my Assassin's Creed hidden blade.

Bondo and sanding completed.

All that's left is cutting and lighting the blade, and then the paint-job.

I'll wait until the rest of my armor is finished, then paint everything all at once.
