there can be problems thought shipping thing over seas though, it has happened countless times to me when they loose it, or it takes a month to get where i want it to. or they even ignore the fragile sticker on it and completely smash it.

When she ships it, I would heartily suggest insuring it.... It's a little bit more costly than "flat" shipping, but if anything happens to it you're just out of your time and effort, not the money (and some change) spent on the materials.

That's a good idea, if you have a chance you could use this as the base for your model to help you build the actual elite, assuming you want to keep it fiberglass, or wire or whichever method you are using ;-)

i wouldnt use the pep file for the skin but as a reference, hard skin = fake look, if you are serious you could try clay and make a latex mold

Did you check out the thread I posted earlier. There's a lonk to a forum in there that will really help.

Thanks guys, i asked doom to close this thread, but actually. i'lljust post progress pics here.

Anywho, after looking at the other Elite, i saw that the guy who made him, was very good at robotics, (aka mouth moving), his elite was a bit bulky. it was far too muscular!

I'm using wire for his frame, then, I plan on putting fabric over the wire.
Wire would work best.

Meh, probably fibre glass, but I need to do the body first, cause honestly, the body's the head part.
Even the head won't be a challenge, it'll be the arms and feeties.

I figured wire for a few reasons.
One, fibre glass just will not do the job i need it to do. It will make the clothe above it look bulky and awkward.
Two, wire will actually, (if used right) make the arms and shoulders look more roundish, making the elite look more realistic.

Their are other. One being the fact that fibreglassing is hard to do in Singapore, especially big things, and the elite is BIG, real BIG.

I can actually say I've gotten out of the drawing phase! Pics to come. Hopefully this weekend. Can't post 'em during weekdays cause I'm mucho busy.

See my wire come to life!

The only prob is getting wire.
i just started using clothes hangers, lol, they are doing the job until I can get something better.

I could title this, "How to make an elite in under $X"

You could try chicken wire/mesh fencing in combination with the heavier wire you already have. It's not always easy to work into small angles though, so it may only work for the large areas.
