I know I've been posting a lot recently but my mind has just been racing with ideas lately, this time it's a durable, metal, light up, energy sword.
This isn't something I at all plan to do with my current skill set and financial situation but I though the idea would be cool enough to share and maybe someone on here who's the kid of a oil tycoon or something could do it one day.
Recently I've been watching a bunch of Business Insider and Car Insider videos as that's what direction my tisum has pointed me in recently,
when I came across this video
It was for a paint company called LumiLor who make's paint that lights up when it gets an electric charge an that immediately got my mind thinking towards the Energy Sword. I've seen many light up Energy swords before using LED strips or Diodes or whatever but a lot of these one's do seem to be quite fragile and also because they have to account for the placement of the lights, can be pretty thick for a sword (still kool as hell tho)
But on the other end of the spectrum you have the one's that don't light up, like the foam one's or Plastic / 3D printed ones,
and then finally you have the Metal Energy Swords you see marked up 70% from retail at every con that has ever conned.
Now LumiLor is nice enough to sell Starter kits for their paint on their website, but it is rather pricy where a 2oz will run you up about $278 USD plus tax, not even to mention that because this stuff is made for Automotive use, Industrially paint equipment will probably be necessary
As for power, there is no way that I can think of where you could possibly have the power source on it without ruining the design so the easiest thing to do would just be to have a cable running up you're arm to a battery mounted on you're body
Now is this Practical, No, will you need a professional, probably, is it extremely expansive for a project like this, 100%
But is it cool as hell, yes
...is it stupid, yes
Again this isn't a project I don't think I'm up for right now, but its just a cool though.t
