i put a a couple layers of fiberglass resin on a pepakura helmet and the resin is not making the paper hard, its pretty much just like a glaze all it did was make it heavier. why did the paper not harden?
The resin alone won't be enough to actually harden the helmet, all it will do is stiffen the cardstock up enough that you don't need to worry about warping it once you remove the struts.
Ok lets see what we can do to help.
1) is it dry it might be tacky but if it is dry to the touch then it's just fine the resin will not harden the part just make it stiffer.
2) if it's still wet after along time drying then you didn't use enough hardener...no worries just break out a hair dryer and give it a good going over with some heat. If it's still wet after that you need to add another coat with at least 10 to 15 drops of hardener that should mix with whats on it and harden it up.
To harden the part you need to fiber glass or rondo the inside of the part. The resin on the outside is to help it keep it's shape while you fiberglass.
