(First of all, my english is a little bit poor and rusty, dont get mad if a write something wrong :p)

Heeeeeey ppl! this is my first post, but im here for a lonnng time, only sneaking around trying to learn something from the amazing works you guys have here.

actually im making a modified and simpler version of the NCR ranger helmet and mask, to use it to play paintball

aaaaand i have another version of the mask, made out of aluminium sheet, nuts and bolts. This project are on hold for now, because i dont have time to spent on that.

well, in a few minutes i will be posting some photos. feel free to coment, and even correct me if im doing or saying something wrong :p

im using the .pdo file named "Fallout NV NCR Veteran Ranger Helm by Hugh", downloaded here from the forum, thanks to whoever did it and posted :D

heeey guys, sorry for the late in the updates, this build will be very slow, since im learning to use certain materials like bondo, but i'm actualy familiar to fiberglass, so at least i'm not totaly noob :p

I do not know the correct way to say the grain size of abrasives that I'm using, but i've started with a grain 50, then passed to 120 and 220. and i have no ideia what is the name of that gray bondo i'm using, i only know its for finishing.

i have more progress to show, but the pictures are in my iphone and i haven't downloaded it yet.
it's a slow process, because every two or three steps i'm do forward, i'm doing one backward hehehe

Looks good so far. Don't get too frustrated with going back a step or two as your learning. I've been sculpting for 20+ years and this style of building is still teaching me new things.

Keep it up!

the problem is when the step back is huge hehehe

the "nose" of the mask was too long, so i've cut down a little bit, but dont had time to cut the central hole and the rest of the details

before:

now:

The eyes frame was a pain to make right, so i decided to remove then and do again, this time with fiberglass+bondo instead of only bondo. but my big problem is that i'm doing this in my "free" time at the shop where i work, understand "free time" as "when the boss aren't looking" hehehhehhe

today i've cleaned the "old" frame and made a mold of the lens to resin, but had time only to resin one side, tomorrow i will try to clean and prepare to start the finishing processes

I completely understand. I just had to scrap my MK VI master cheif chest piece becausee I got impatient and didn't pay attention to how little hardener I added to the rondo mix. Now I have to re build the pepakura model. LOL that was a fun day.
