First build. Halo 3 marine

Clover arc

Building a halo 3 marine armor out of EVA foam. Creating this armour for the upcoming convention, Tampa bay comic con.
The Keith David. The voice actor of the arbitar will be there. That'll be epic.

The pieces aren't finished yet. Following a guide off the internet. Andrew DFT. So far so good. Next will be sanding and paint. What the best way to get that marine green color? Let me know when you can. Thanks

FYI:
I just saw that Galactic Armory has released a full Halo 3 marine armor for printing.
I don't work for GA, or get any kickback or anything like that. Just saying this would be some of their newest stuff which if its anything like their latest spartan MK-VI, is a really nice fileset.
I know you're doing foam right now. Just an FYI in case you decide to upgrade a part here and a part there over time.

The helmet they have might look like it fits your head but it has a little groove that your ears get stuck in when taking it off, even before you put in padding.
Something to take note of if you want to go with it!

Have you considered a motorcycle/ski balaclava? Really saves my ears with my Spartan helmet. Should help with the Marine one as well.

Thanks for the tip!
My only concern with that is I can fit my big head in the helmet, but my wife who has a much smaller head also has the issue of the ears, so I might suggest carving out a space for it because it is underneath the helmet!
Or just editing the model would work too!

Print it 3% wider?

I'm using Montana Gold NATO for the green on mine. I'm hoping to have mine done in time for Tampa Comic Con too.

I've got an extra Marine helmet you can have if you want it

You can just sand it down and repaint it to your liking.

Yo you for real??! I can use this for the con?! That's awesome. Bim only gonna be there on a Saturday. Due to work issue. Great to meet you. And compare costume. I'm using tri-color desert uniform for the suiting.

Use it for the con, use it as a paperweight, use it for whatever you want, it'llbe yours to keep my dude.

I'll be there Friday and Saturday. I'm going to TRY to have my ODST fixed by then, but odds are, I'll just have the marine done.

I had an opportunity to order some M90 Desert uniforms a few months ago, but they won't be delivered in time, so I'll likely be using tri-color as well. We'll see what i can scrounge. I have a set of British desert DPM, but i need to lose some weight to fit the pants.

Some quality of life improvements im working on. Split thigh pieces, flexible torso and rear armor, then repainting the whole thing. The original paintjob turned out good, but it was way more green than I wanted. Ill be repainting it Montana Gold Anthracite

The Army Green is a great shade, just a heads up if you haven't played with it much, it's a light shade of green.

I used it on my Halo CE helmet because I wanted that lighter green from the original game/remaster

That true!
This'll be my third visit to the convention. First time was when Steve downes has here in 2023. I was an scp guard. I'll post the picture later. Heading to work.
