Foam/Printed ODTS

ReProps2003

Hi all, I've got an ODST built that I've been working on and improving over the past year so i figured I'd show my process and upgrades. I'll made a post for each major upgrade/revision of the armor since it incorporates new processes and techniques i learned along the way.

The first version of the armor was made December of 2023. It was made from floor mat foam using Andrew DFT's templates for the armor and Hero's workshop ODTS helmet pattern. foam was glued using contact cement and strapping was all nylon straps and buckles. Defiantly had too many pouches and the ab plate didn't sit right, but i feel it was a solid start.

I actually love the pouches! there may be "too many" but im wondering if its just because of the ab plate situation? do you need the plate to attach the pouches too? do you think you could transfer those onto a belt or hang them down from the chest piece? i wonder if losing the ab plate will make the pouches not look so bulky. I didnt even realize there WAS an ab plate until i saw it without the pouches haha. i think it looks slightly off because the midsection has more going on than your chest. great build!

yeah the abb plate got weighed down by all the pouches making it not really work at all. "midsection has more going on than your chest", literally my thoughts when i first was wearing the armor. thanks for the CC!

next big upgrade in the armor was changing the paint scheme to yellow and adding needler rounds to the armor. also made a scaled down grav hammer for sh*ts and giggles. Wore this to galexy con 2024.

I started migrating the kit over to 3d printed parts for more accuracy, first the helmet then the shoulders. plan it to have most the kit printed in the end. colors scheme worked well for a helldivers helmet at animate 2025, when i dropped and shattered my odst one.
