Hi y'all! I'm starting this thread a bit late, but there is still lots to do. I wanted to have a permanent weapon to go with my odst, and the obvious choice was a sniper rifle since I'm in the process of building my odst out into a recon/sniper style. The sniper is based partially on halo 5, but with some aspects from infinte. I'm loosely following this build: Halo Sniper Rifle Build By Teamroper5, which itself is based on andrewdft templates. Right now I'm ready to get started on painting, and I'm probably going to paint it with the infinite color scheme. Its made out of a combination of eva foam and xps foam board.
took longer then expected, but everything has been sealed, and I started painting. It turns out that apparently the spray paint gets a lil hungry though sometimes and eats away at the xps foam if it isn’t sealed properly. Luckily the only causality so far was the beam to hold the bipod together and a few small spots. That issue aside though, everything is going well. The cold weather forced me to brake out a heating fan, but drying time is still incredibly long. Right now I have painted and taped off all the grey parts, and just started painting the majority of it black last night.
I finished painting the body tonight, and I am definitely loving these colors. Tomorrow hopefully I will get the carry handle installed and do some light weathering and touch ip paint where it peeled.
