Need to do some testing/calibrating on the CNC router here at work. It's not a really sophisticated set up.
I want to carve something that fits within 5"x5"x4". That 4" is the max height. The 5"x5" is just approxamate, i don't care if its not square or whatever, i just dont have the time/material to do a chest plate or something.
I need to end up with a 3D solid object in Rhino3D to cut successfully. (The RhinoCAM program we have is kind of retarded)
Rhino3d can import .stl, .dxf, .3ds, and .obj fairly successfully.
Personally i'd like to do a plasma grenade. I'm open to suggestions.
I'd like to carve the postive image of the object, to take a mold off of. If the part comes out well enough, i'm thinking i'll just send it to one of you guys for free to make the mold. You keep the mold, i get a casting (or two? ). Yeah why not, lets go with that. Show me your build thread so i know that you know what you're doing?
