Update:

I got some bitkote and more hot glue sticks from bunnings today!
brushed on the first coat of bitkote diluted with some water, below you can see it when I first brushed it on, and the other photo is one of the parts a bit later.
and I've put on my 2nd layer of bog on the chest, not much left to go!

Update:

I'm very close to having a pair of spartan pants!
I still need to mod the shoes a bit in the heel but heck do my pants look good!
currently gluing the cod with contact adhesive to pieces of EVA foam to connect all the pieces back together,
then I'll do a belt and straps for the thigh pieces.
-one pic with flash, one with natural lighting-

Update:

Thankyou everyone, I love seeing your comments on my thread :D
today I got my chest finally sanded and primed!
hitting it with the 240 grit tomorrow to make it nice and smooth for the blue to go on, aswell as adding in the lock details
other than that it's a bit of work on the back piece and I'm just about done building the armour!

14326788044_f7d41748c1_z.jpg

Tomorrow I'm strapping everything up, the cod is almost completely glued together, the thighs need a belt and straps and the shoes/shins need modification but I plan to have it all ready by wednesday at last!
maybe even putting lights in if i'm crazy enough, will see how it goes!

Update:

So I took caboose out for me and my Girlfriend's anniversary yesterday,
the chest isnt properly finished yet, but annoyingly i think it might be a little small, which is sad because i put lots of work into it.
anyway, the strapping/padding on the thighs, chest, helmet and cod were temporary, so i'm going to re-do it and add shoulder padding and it'll hopefully look better
might end up making a bigger chest if this one ends up too small, but I guess I'll see soon enough

What do you think?
hows it look? recommendations?

If you're concerned about the chest piece, maybe add a abdominal piece and then see how you feel about it. I think it looks too small because there's just nothing between the chest piece and cod piece.

One word: EPIC!

I agree with Retralpha, once you add the lower part of the chest it will look more proportionate.

You have a very nice suit here! I love Caboose. The ONLY thing I see that may be wrong is the size of the chest, I think its a tad small, or its just me. But that is what I noticed. I agree with Retralpha and Underdog that the ab plate should make it all better! Keep up the good work!

Update:

Thanks for the replies guys,
I am bothered by the chest looking small,
hopefully the following will fix it
-ab piece added
-cod, thighs and shins raised
-shoulders padded out a bit more

I'm thinking the problems are the helmet is a little too big and the chest and shoulders a little too small,
the thighs are also a tiny bit small too, but they arent too far off that i'd replace them, which is really lame because I was aiming for it to look proportionate
but I'll try with what I've got, and if the chest still looks too small I'll start making a new one to replace it with eventually
still, good learning experience for the my Girlfriend's build after this is done

Update:

Did a quick photoshop today to see what I'd look like with the ab piece in its place, it fills it out a bit so I'm hopeful it will make the chest look okay,
going to restrap everything tomorrow since i'm finally free from uni as I've done my last assignment today!

Awesome build! I love seeing people make RvB builds. And seeing your most recent photo, I think having the ab plate in place will do wonders for the chest piece looking a bit small. All in all a fantastic build :)

I think the size of the chest piece looks fine :)
Are you planning on making a waist undersuit?

Btw it looks crazy good!

yeah i think your suit is actually pretty spot on as far as sizing :)
the big question you gotta ask yourself is "is it comfortable to wear" and also if you have pretty go movement then i think youre on the right track :)
keep up the good work

Thank you all that have had a look and given their advice/opinions, It's much appreciated! :)

I plan to make an undersuit for all of the exposed joints and the waist, it should give my spartan the authentic look that i'm going for,
I'm also fairly handy with the sewing machine haha

Thanks dude, my suit is fairly comfy, I am modifying my shins and shoes though, my feet slip out of the back of the shoes when i walk and the shins are a bit difficult to get on and off,
but i'll get this to a point where it's comfy to wear for sure haha

as for the update today I put lights in the helmet, and It looks freaking sweet.

Update:
So for the past month or so i've been either sick, cold, working or playing too many games to do anything on my armour to speak of,
and I'm stuck in working out how to attempt my undersuit,
I've been at it slowly though, and chucked it on today with my modified strapping system and the ab plate in place

still have to work on that chest, maybe when i get a warm day here, it's been freezing!

If you can pull up the slack on that stomach undersuit and give it some detail, this build would be absolutely perfect. As it is I'm extremely impressed! Good work, Spartan!
