The Halo 2 Bible

Yea, for I walk thru the Valley of Coagulation, I shall fear no sniper, banshee, or assorted vehicle. For I knoweth where the launcher of rockets is kept and I shall strike them all down with its holy fire. Fear not thy shaking hands, nor thy blurring eyes, for it shall be remedied with the companionship of thy shotgun.
May thy smite thyn enemies unto ruins of evil.
Thy story, of thy Lord Bungie.
In the beginning, there was nothing. Then Bungie swept its arm across the sky and maps were created.
But these maps were unpopulated and soon grew dusty from unuse. So again, Bungie swept across the maps and created Spartans and Elites.
A blood fued between the kin covered the world with bodies of the fallen. But the Spartans were without razor sharp tooth and nail, so they begged Bungie for deliverence.
Bungie responded with the gift of firepower, in the form of rifles, pistols, and grenades. So as not to seem unfair, Bungie also gave the Elites the gift of holy blue fire.
Soon the killing escalated and each race demanded more power. Bungie responded with the gift of vehicles, for both races, as well as the ability to destroy or steal from the other race.
As the fighting continued, soon many sub-cultures of warrior rose from combat. The sniper, the loquacious, the spawn camper, and many others.
Each of these warrior types fought with their own distinctive style and grace. The snipers were able to kill a man across a map, some said. The spawn camper was able to rack up large kills by sitting near a birthing place and killing newborns and then gloating about it. And the loquacious was able to talk one into an enervated state, and use the momentary weakness to lay waste upon their enemies.
For awhile all was good, but then the snipers demanded a place to call their own, so Bungie again swept across the maps and created Waterworks, haven for the snipers.
And this is how it goes on, up to the present time, where the battle still rages, and people still lament about the pistol's lack of a scope.
