Halo 3 ODST Build

I've changed my name a couple times now, but you may know my Survivor-Carter build.

It was fun to make, but I think its time to do something of my own now that I have some practice in with the foamsmithing. I'm henceforth marking this as the start of my ODST build. Figure its an excellent way to keep me occupied with the weather starting to cool down. Using copilot to brainstorm some stuff. We'll see what I come up with.

Can't wait to see it! I built an ODST from foam last year. So if you need any help, feel free to reach out!

What files are you using? Or are you free handing it?
I started with Aguilar's files, but am now conflicted. I liked how detailed his files are but they aren't as accurate to the Halo 3 ODST model as I thought. Not sure what game they are from TBH. I'm likely going to use a mix of Aguilar and Galactic Armory (GA). I own both.
See comparison of models here.

Thighs, calves, and waist pieces are almost all printed/foamed out. Likely start the shoulders (Aguilar) and forearms (GA) next.

Going to start a "vest" piece out of 5-10mm foam before 3D printing the chest pieces to make sure the scale is correct.
Some people use plate carriers but I think I can make it work with foam. Keeps me busy over Christmas break at least.
I also bought a house and need a break from packing stuff.

Ended up redoing the shoulder straps to make them more thin. Not really accurate but they were too bulky. Kind of had to cobble some of the foam together but I think I can hide the seams. Seems to fit decently well. I'm going to add foam padding so that'll kind of compensate for everything.

Had a brain-blast moment last night. In order to attach the backpack, I'm going to mount in three points. There are some straps that can hide 2 D-rings and carabiner clips (1). The third point will be some screw/peg that I put at point (2). When I go backpack-less, I can cover the peg with some sort of Velcro patch. Internal rigging and the weight of the front plates should counterbalance the backpack.

For now, I'm going to finish 3D printing everything. All I have left are the chest pieces, biceps, and forearms. I'm still in the middle of moving so I just want to have all the pieces ready for when I go to assemble it all.
