Halo Reach / Infinite ODST first build

Progress pictures on the way as I have already started on this build but had to take a small break due to work and such. I am making a halo reach style ODST with some upgraded details or select parts from Infinite due to the higher detail/ relative similarity of the parts. This may take me a while as I am really focusing on as much detail as I can with this one. Here as how I am approaching the build -
- All Armor plates are being made out of Sintra material reinforced in some points with fiberglass resin
- All softer components are being made of various thickness EVA foam
- I also intend on sewing some of the soft parts myself so I can learn some more new skills in this process
- Also I have planned out most of my strapping and attaching set up already. With the way I planned it I should be able to remove most individual parts of the armor for repairs or replacement... or just because its cool.

This is a Blender set up of roughly the goal minus the colors and that armor plates will be reach design

Very happy with the progress on the chest plate so far. In the end this will go under the ODST plate like in the game. The chest was actually made off of hand drawn templates I made myself. The wings are from a pep template from the armory.

Here is some more progress this is for the back and upper shoulder section. I used the pep. templates to create a cardboard draft of the back plate so I could check sizing and also draw on the details and have a more sturdy template to work with before transfer to material. So far so good!

My first build was an ODST as well! I have never worked with Sintra material but those templates are super clean! Look forward to seeing the rest of your process

The Sintra is actually really nice to work with, easy to bend and shape like foam just gives a much harder finish... Definitely not good for very complex parts though

Little side project away from the armor for a few days but here is my first ever large resin print. I did a custom magnum with working slide, mag release, Trigger, etc... This took forever to get done but I learned a bunch along the way! Files are from "From the Brink Studios"
