Halo The TV Series Master Chief full build

One glaring thing I've yet to figure out is where I can carry my cell phone ......? I don't have any convenient leather pouches or pockets like on all my other outfits ...
So what clever solutions have people come up with?
  • I put a small pocket on the inside of my thigh at the top so I can just drop it inside.
  • One of the guys in this area that does a 117 armor built a hiding spot in the stock of his AR

All the body armor now has completed the baseline painting and has 2 light coats of a matte clear to protect them. Tomorrow I'll start the 'armor paint chipping' passes and then the final weathering/grime layer. Once complete I'll move on to finish the helmet which just has its baseline translucent olive layer.
Still working on the final code to get the correct breathing effect on the energy sword ... it's close but not exactly what I want just yet.
Still looking for a workable cellphone holder ... I can't sew any pockets into my undersuit pants unfortunately ... I know there are these cell cases with magnets so maybe I can attach a magnet in some out of the way place on my armor that is still reachable ...

All body armor has its final color modulation and initial matte clear to protect it before doing paint chipping and grime/dust passes

Tomorrow I'll start the paint chipping and then decal placement and if time I might get to the grime pass as well. Then a final detail dust pass and matte clear. Then on to the helmet which needs, final green modulation, paint chipping, grime and dust passes.
I also found a magnetic cellphone holder so I'm going to try and mount a magnet somewhere inconspicuously around the COD for my phone. Last details include adding a magnet to the COD hip box as an energy sword "holster" and final Velcro attachment for COD side plate ... oh and finalize energy sword s/w and mount the board and the wiring in the handle

So today was a really good day ...
Helmet now has its olive green base layer and tomorrow the COD will be cured so I can do its olive base and start on the 'cinematic green modulation' layer for all the armor. All that was expected to get done today without issue. But what went really well was I was finally able to get the basic functionally of my energy sword working ... I won't bore everyone will all the buffoonery leading up to today but suffic to say I'm still basically clueless when it comes to electronics. After several weeks of working this I finally believe I'll have a functioning energy sword ...Here's a quick clip with some test code to confirm everything is working cortectly

Tomorrow I should have the real code with the various effects finalized which I'll check out and if all goes well I can then mount the board in the handle and finish the magnetic attachment to one of the COD hip boxes so I can free up my right hand when needed since my left always as the energy shield on it ...

That sword is incredible! Amazing! Inspiring! I'm recently retired and planning to build a Master Chief suit. This thread is a wealth of information. Thank you!

Thx! Keeps me off the streets at night ...
If there is enough interest I'm considering offering kits for sale to make your own energy sword ... they would include the 3D printed transparent blades, neopixel RGB LED strips, micro controller, Arduino code, switch, battery and assembly instructions. you would need to be able to solder several wires to the micro processor board but that is as complex as it would get ...

I'm now turning my attention to finishing the helmet. It has its pre shading, translucent olive and first cinematic green modulation pass done so I should have it done by Saturday which will just leave the energy sword and cell phone magnetic mounts on the COD. I'm starting to feel like Batman with the things I'm attaching to the COD belt ... lol
Energy sword s/w is almost where I want it so I'll post a video of the final effect once complete.
If anyone is attending MegaCon next week, I know the Southern Regimen5 is setting up a booth, please stop by the Dalek Builders of Florida's booth and say hi. I'll be hanging with my Dalek in a different costume each day: in this costume on Saturday. Thursday will be Colt Seavers from the Ryan Goslin The Fall Guy movie, Friday will be The Ghoul and Sunday will be a WasteLander from Fallout ... The Mandalorian will not be making an appearance this year .... and yes, I have no life!
