Halo Wars Campaign And Achievements Discussion

I only have 1 skull, but like 5 black boxes. I just went through the campaign just to finish the story. I'm gonna go back through and look around.

Also, i had a problem on the super-scarab level. Randomly, the scarab would lock on the temples in front of my base, and shoot it like 3 or 4 times, then keep searching. There were no units there at all. Does it just do that? Or is ensemble just Effing with me?

I think they intended it, because Sgt Forge says something like, "We have to work quick before it breaks through this barrier," or something.

Anyways, I got Handy with Tools with the same method as you other guys. Mine was, Exactly, 3:25, what I did, was while I was training the Cyclops', I used the "Heal" power over the reactor everytime I had it, worked like a charm. :D

I have 40 achievements. After I get Wall of Recognition I will be going into matchmaking more to try and make it up to General for the achievement. I haven't done any Co-op yet, or played on Heroic or higher.

Im on mission 11, and Ive got over 16 achievements... :p
Although I am having trouble with the "Handy with Tools" Achievement... It seems impossible to be that quick.
Acutally, Nevermind, I just thought, Im going to use the regenerator. ^^
You'll actually have to do more than just train more Cyclops. You'll need the skulls that decrease training time and increase speed of supply gathering. Not sure if the supply one did any good, but I did it without the one skull and still needed 20 extra seconds. With the skull I did it with only a few seconds to spare.

Don't build turrets, send your Wolverines or Cobras(Can't remember which, but they're the anti-air units) to the immediate North of the Core. Marines and Hawks to the platform with the two airlocks. Double click the left stick right infront of the Core(Global Rally point). Start building equal numbers of Cyclops from the two airlocks(5 at each to start) on the platform you sent your Hawks to protect. The Cyclops will automatically start fixing the Core when they reach the Rally point. Leave you to only manage your troops and keep the flow of Cyclops going. I think my Cyclops units nearly surrounded the Core when the mission was over.

Skulls needed:
Skull Name: Pain Train (Mission 13: Beachhead)
Kill 10 Bomber Forms
- Leave two units at the first Flood Hole before going through the teleporter. Done on Easy, but if you don't leave some behind any higher I would expect much more difficulty later on when trying to retrieve this skull.

Skull Name: Bountiful Harvest (Mission 14: Reactor)
Kill 20 Vampires
- Easy to find when you finish the optional task. It's about half way up to the Apex Base. This one is optional I believe, but better safe than repeat that mission ten times.

These two skulls will decrease your final score for the mission so I wouldn't try to get Gold or anything while doing this for the achievement. I have all the mission achievements except for the Adam one, but I just need to do the mission again now that I know where he is and how not to get him killed.

i didnt have to have any skulls to do it. i just cranked out a cyclops from each of the airlocks as soon as i had enough money for one. i had 18-20.

ive played several matches on live. over half of them my teammate quit out on me, one my box froze, and my other loss i just got my ass handed to me. ive only won like 2.

I guess that's true if you use all the airlocks. I just used two as it was easier to defend a smaller area than the whole deck.

yeah. mine was just two of the airlocks also. just kept pumping them out. i didnt even move any of the infantry units they gave me. their starting postition is enough to keep everyone from making it over to the core, and the one or two that are with the cyclops are enough to take out the banshies that are flying around on that first half.

has anyone done any of the co-op? i loaded up one of the levels with a friend, but we quit ten minutes in because of the way it was set up. it was slightly confusing. he got to control the spartans that i started with, but i controlled the rest, and we could both manipulate the base. i dont know how much i like that, but i have to playu thru the whole thing on co-op if i want that achievement...ugh...

why cant i stop playing this game?

Was wondering how the whole Co-Op thing worked as I'm not able to try it out. So I guess you could have one person manage the forces and the other manage the base(s) then?

The ending for some reason didn't feel as dramatic though. Anyone know if there's a legendary ending?

well, there was a small difference, at the very end after the credits and the title pops up there is the AI saying "captain, something has happened" but I doubt there is a squeal although I'm sure they were planing to make one until they got shut down.

also I have about 25 time line events and haven't received the achievement, I have maybe 2 skulls or so, and about 16 total achievements.

It's the flood.

Beat it.... On Normal. Twice, 'cause I forgot to retrieve my gamertag info before starting it. >,<.

1/4th of the way done with the metagame stuff. Working on skirmishes, trying to improve my build times so I can survive heroic and legendary. Got a few buddies I'll do co-op stuff with after my college finals next week.

On a side note - how do you apply the LE Skins?? I have redeemed my code and downloaded them but they don't apply to my vehicles when I'm playing ... what have I done or not done wrong?

Unfortunatly as of right now you can only use them in non-xbl, single player games. You can turn the skins on in the "skulls" menu (press start to find it). I got LE, and the warthog skin thinking they would be fun on XBL. :(

on a side note to this I'm on this almost every night right now so if anyone wants to hit me up I'd realy like to get some 3v3 going with a good team.

kind of cool I guess.
There's an achievement called "Ready for the sequel", you have to get 100% game completion. Maybe you unlock something extra? Or it's just saying there might be a Halo Wars 2...

My guess is that somehow a Halo game will tie up the Master Chief with the lost Spirit of Fire ship.

If anyone wants to do some Mythic map pack customs or play Halo Wars sometime, send me a FR- SonLc X
Let me know you're from the 405th. I usually don't add random people I don't know.

Same here,

Ryoman5 is my Gamertag.

I'm not really on that much, but I'd play Halo 3 custom games (I don't have Mythic yet) or Halo Wars, whichever you're on.
