Hey everyone,

I am currently working on a femshep mass effect cosplay and I have all the materials that are needed....
But I'm stuck on the most important part, the templates.
How do you re-size the templates and then print them? Honestly I'm stumped. I followed http://www.julianbeek.nl/blog and used the codex and everything and have all the proportions needed but they just won't print. I have no idea what to do and I've used so much ink and countless pieces of paper :/
I've rescaled each image in gimp and even photoshop but the images still won't print to scale. I have no clue what to do. Any help? And what am I doing wrong?

Hi! I see you're having some trouble with scaling your templates.

The easiest way to do this is to have pepakura designer, which, if you don't have it, is downloadable from here.

Once you've done that, load your templates into it, and refer to HaloGoddess's Scaling(+more!) thread.

It's all plain sailing from thereon out if you're pepping your build, but there's advice for foam too.

Hope this helps! :)

Thank you so so SO much!!!
I've followed everything you said but now I'm having problems loading 2d images into pepakura XD eh... I'm hopeless lol. BUT I will figure this out and thanks to you I can do this :D thanks again!<3

If you're using photoshop, and the templates are just images, you could print them out and figure out how much bigger you need to make them (in a percentage). Then, in photoshop, just ctrl+T to resize and type in the percentage at the top to what ever you figured. You may have to split the images up if you need to make them bigger in order to get them to fit on sheets of paper, but if you know how to use photoshop, this will be a breeze.

Uploading 2D images to pepakura isn't the best way to do it. If you're using the PDF files that I think you're using, editing the size in photoshop is the best way to do it.

If you really are having problems with photoshop, you may want to look into posterazor, which will print out an image and outlay them in several pages that you then line up and tape together. It will probably take a few print outs before you get it just right. but maybe it will help

Hey Harmonic!!

Not gonna lie, I'm excited to help you out on this one! I'd say try and make SURE you make a "ruler" inside your template... so at least you know how it will translate to the real world. ie; what some designers did with the helmet render, was include a "coin" or something that will represent sizing in the real world. I would suggest trying to print your template, with a "line" running up and down the the whole object, as a guide point for when you print out your template.

Personally, I have found some pretty gnarly stuff out there, but I'm working on the Terminus right now in the 'pooter. Still working on my halo armor. But hey, if I could ask a favor when you're done, send us some piccehs! Oh, and can I have a gander @ your template? Send me a PM!

Good luck I'll try and watch you if you need help!

So I've been looking all over this site, along with Google and other sites for FemShep Pep Armor. I have only been able to find foam templates. Is there any Pep templates out there or anyone that can help me create such a template? My GF and I are building Armor for DragonCon next year and we would both like to go as Shepard. Or if someone would help unfold this link:

http://www.4shared.com/file/_iP4zOKm/FemShep_N7_Armor_by_Darhood.html

She is 5'3 (63 inches) if that helps with the proper scaling or would it be Default FemShep's hight? Any help on this, I would be very grateful for.

the link to the original poster's templates appears to be dead. Can anyone help with both the male and female templates? I keep being led to it from various sites, but the site appears to be down. If anyone has the templates in either the PDF or PDO formats, I'd love to have them. The one or two screen captures of the PDF formats looks interesting.
Thanks
