Help Finding Resin

This is my first attempt at making a Halo helmet. I made the Mark VI and I am completely done with the Pep stage. Problem is, I cant find any good resin. I went to a few craft stores and they dont have any good resin. Now, I am a noob and really do not know what to look out for. All I want is a non-toxic and relatively cheap resin, could someone please link me to a site or maybe even name a store that has good resin? Relativity cheap and non-toxic, good luck. All I can suggest is using urathane resin perhaps and you can get a kit of it off ebay.

I got some at my local Lowes for $30. If not there then try a home depot or maybe even an auto store. Good luck on the helmet.

Hardware stores are the best place to locate resin. Just remember to get non-waxed. If you get waxed it will be impossible to paint afterwards

See if you can find Aqua-Resin, that's the only really non-toxic alternative I know of. Epoxy is toxic, and so is urethane resin. All three of them are going to be relatively expensive though.

Aqua-Resin is rediculously expensive. The stuff you are looking at might work, but you will have to add multiple coats since it dose not cure with the same strength as polyurithane resin and the cure time is kind of stupid. It can take hours for this type of resin to even dry, let alone cure, while polyurithane resin dries in about 15 minutes and cures in 30. It might work, but you will have to be VERY patient.

How fast epoxy cures depends solely on the product. You can get it with cure times anywhere from a few minutes to several days. Needless to say that the time you have to actually work with it varies accordingly.
