How Adam Attaches His Armor

i've always used elastic suspenders for my suit. I lending this one out and I don't have those suspenders right now because I "sold" them.

Yes, elastic suspenders are MUCH better for thigh pieces than this current setup. Why? Because when you bend over they stay up. If you use non-elastic like this video show, when you bend over, the thighs fall down.

I need to make buckles on the sides on the chest and back piece to keep it still. Actually this video is one I made for microsoft - the suit was shipped there yesterday for a conference they are having. I hope they ship it back, and not with a C&D.

I think I'll switch to the elastic hand plates as well.

I'll upload to stage6 when I get home.

I noticed you didnt strap your lower arms to the bicepts, I did that on mine, but I never thought of using gloves to keep them up, maybe I'll just remove the straps and have my gloves keep them up too, that will give some more freedom than having straps being pulled around.

the pressure suit jacket that I have on has elbow pads in it that keep the forearms in place. Without that, they'd be flopping round, and you'd need some sorta padding in there.

So just grab a pressure suit so my elbows don't look so skinny.

Awesome!
I was hopeing to get more info about how others put/strap their armor on. the biceps/shoulders were my big question. that "backpack" idea works, huh? I thought about attaching them to the top of the chest piece useing "snap buckels" (((those plastic backpack buckels))) that way i could take them on and off easy and i could get them to pull them up higher.

also the thigh stapping i think is the best idea!

thanks for the video!!!

strap across the neck for the upper shoulders works amazing!!! took a few tries to get that idea working.

I'm gonna use that for my armor, I always had to put the torso and upper arms on like a Tshirt, hard, but does work. Then taking them off was near impossible because my arms against the bulging chest piece, I couldnt move my arms too freely to unhook them.

my shoulders have buckle straps that connect them to the back/chest pieces, but aside from that the rest of my stuff attaches the same way as adam's (it is the same armor afterall). the padding in my pressure suit holds my forearms in place as well.

i use elastic suspenders under the pressure suit jacket to hold up the lower body. i found that if i attached the thighs to a belt, the weight of them plus the codpieces would sag my pants (no ghetto master chief style for me).

BTW, Adam. i need a new side pack for my codpiece. i lost one in the Superdome at some point this past season. i tried to PM you, but you know the drill. send me a PM.

Thanks Adam, this video has been a lifesaver for me.
As it happens I just received my MC armor today from 'Hero design' but it didn't come with the straps! (I asked for them but nada)
So im having to make up my own strapping system now. This will save alot of time.

Just write me when you need pictures from some parts/strappings. I have my armor from there too and I changed the strapping system a bit. Works good now. btw: I suggest to put a bit more hot glue around the edges where the elastics came out. So you have a little more protection inside. The hot glue layer inside reduces the pressure from the elastics on the armor part a bit. Prevents that the fibreglass could get hairline cracks there on impact stress.

This is extremely helpful! Since there isn't as clear of thread about attaching your armor. Awesome adam!

i really like that backpack idea you used for the shoulder pieces, because i had that problem in my old suit where the shoulders kept falling down. i think im gonna have to steal your idea for my new H3 suit :D

I like the video. and the dog. and the video.

i will have to use this for my armor.

and my dog will like it too.

This video is sweet, thanks for posting. I would have never thought to connect the biceps like that. Btw your armor is amazing.
