How would i go about making moulds lemme see if im correct?

ok i have a weapon scuplt of a gun out of clay thats all i got so far but how would i go about making the mould? how? and i would just poor resin with some hardener in it right? if so wouldnt the resin turn out clear and make the gun clear or something.?
