Hello, I am in need of help and wanted to reach out. I am printing a halo dread helm for a friend of mine and Its been a nightmare. To the point where I just printed in small sections. I just need the top hood cover of the helmet and the entire thing is complete. I am using a ender 3 Max and ender 3 pro. I have had other perfect prints but when it comes to the top part it is not working out, is there a setting or way of printing you recommend? If I could setup supports like I do with my resin prints thatd help alot too. I am currently using Slicer. Any help would be greatly appreciatedView attachment 309385View attachment 309386

Hi Napalm - welcome to the 405th forums! Firstly I noticed you created two threads; if you could keep all the information in one thread and mark the other for deletion that would help keep the forums spick and span.
For your printing problem, can you give us some screenshots of what the gcode looks like in the slicer program? Also what filament do you use?

Hello. The first one said it had an error posting so I created another. As for the gcodes I am unable to revisit the file info, I am
Unsure how to see them once in gcode format beyond stl. I have them saved. But I always print at 250-260 and bed at 70. Fan at 73. Iput in square supports and will attempt it with those but the time frame went to 1day 13hrs up from 10hr print time.

've run into some issues similar to what you're seeing. one of the things that was causing the issue was the profile I was using in Cura. I have an ender 3 max as well but one if the problems was that the printed that i had selected in the software was an ender 3 pro. i was having layer shifts, over/underextrusions, poor layer adhesion, the works! what helped for me was to go back into the printer selection and ensure that i had the correct printer selected in the settings. i was using the ender 3 pro settings for my ender 3 max and it was throwing literally everything out of wack. i also made sure that the bed sizing was correct so i don't loose out on print volume with the ender 3 being the smaller of the beds.

so some things to check before you start back up:

1 what printer is listed in cura?
2 what profile are you using? (the default ones that show up are something like "dynamic quality 0.12" or whatever)
3 have you tried doing a calibration test? (XYZ 20mm Calibration Cube by iDig3Dprinting) this cube will tell you which axis you might be having issues specifically so you can work backwards from there
4 is the PETG or Capricorn tubing seated properly?
5 have you swapped the nozzle recently? does it need to be cleaned?
6 have you leveled the bed recently?
7 check the belt tightness of you axis
8 check for wobble on the carrier assembly (there shouldn't be any wobble when you grab it and twist gently)
9 clean the build plate (I use Elmer's glue sticks and sometimes I need to run it under hot water to get it cleaned off)

let me know if you have any questions, I've been dealing with ender 3's for a hot minute now.

Hi! these are all excellent questions and will all help in figuring out the problem! I wanted to ask what file you are using? If the file is corrupted or a game file, it will most likely not be printable without running it through netfabb first.

why would you do that Zach 009? That's like packing bricks into a parachute and jumping out of a perfectly good airplane.....big mistake.....anything but helmets I would be glad to offer my assistance.....my helmet making consists of multiple tries and a lot of wasted time.....so if that is what you want.....then I'm your guy.
