You should get a more advanced program for those kind of things. I use photoshop, but a good free one is gimp. (http://www.gimp.org/)

The only thing I can judge is that it's from the same picture, nothing was done to the sig except it being cut down to size and having a text layer.

A black background, text layer, and 2 images both with similar black backgrounds which makes them blend in.

2ndly you need to spend more time on your sig before you ask people about it. I spent alot of time making my sig and avatar match.
