Hey howdy! Been a hot minute since I've found myself in a new genre costume wise but definitely no stranger to Halo.

I'm an EMT and special effects artist out of the Carolinas who, when not battling 3D printers and cosplay, find myself in the woods hunting, fishing, or rock hounding.

The original Halo is what got me into this whole thing and it holds a good place in my heart between the LAN parties (if that shows my age a bit) and watching my brother play.

I have primarily belonged to the Mando Mercs Club with several approved kits with them and Rebel Legion so I'm familiar with costume requirements.

Hoping to connect with others locally and further advance my skills with 3D sculpting while I dive into my first Halo kit, one that doesn't have any files available. Sneak peek attached

All in all I plan to start a build thread once I get a little further in my stages, but in the meantime, I look forward to seeing what new folks I meet on this adventure.

Hello all,
I'm really new to the costume community, life hasn't presented much opportunity but I'm hoping to make it more of a thing.

I've loved the Halo series since it released, Reach being my favorite but I love most all of the main series games. I'm in my mid-thirties with a wife and kids. I work for an electrical engineering company for critical infrastructure. I'm currently listening to the audio books as well to deepen my knowledge of the lore

I plan on working primarily with EVA and would like to incorporate electronics. Long term, I'd like to eventually get into 3d printing too but that'll likely be years down the road.

Admittedly, this site is a little confusing for me to navigate. I'll happily take any advice and I'm open to conversation. I'm way more likely to respond on disord, which my name on the 405th is Plebus_Vox.

This being my 200th post, I wanted to repost here as the last time I did, it was 2018 and fresh out of school, so why not?

A brief history:​

I created my account looking to build a CE marine cosplay many moons ago. Now I am a few suits in and I still haven't done that! (Spartan4204 has gracisouly gifted me a printed CE Marine helmet though to kick that suit off back in 2024 at TORG)
I met the 405th for a brief moment with my brother in Tennesse ComicCon 2023.
Jump to that September at Cleveland Gaming Classic where we got a proper introduction, met Jeff Steitzer, and I dislocated my knee trying to pickup a 405th card that fell from the table. 10/10 would do it again, the group immediately got me assistance and welcomed us with open arms. That dinner at Swensons is one I will hold onto for as long as I can.

Seriously since then it has been so fun learning from and of the people in this community.
Any newcomer that finds their way here and is unsure about where they fit in, or are unsure about posting, or joining a voice chat. Just do it, and if it doesn't get the traction you hoped for the first time, try again!
