Belakor has another unfold that he is almost done with. Its on the second page, if someone wants to take a look.

Edit: Finally got around to fixing the file so here is the helmet with a more curved face than the first one.

Eh, not really 'accurate'...I'd remodel first.

Alright I'll get to it.

Edit: and I'll be sure to save more often
Why not just scratch build as someone else did on the forums? (it's looking awesome)
It wouldnt be that difficult (comparing to mark VI) since the actual shape is quite simple.

lol I tried building it from scratch and it didn't work out too well. I'm kind of noobish with max so its pretty difficult.

he doesnt want to build one, he wants the pep file for other people to use it... (and himself, i guess)

I was thinking about using it which I probably will but I also wanted to try to sculpt my next project.

I finally got the model back to where it was before and then some. It might be done by Friday or Monday.

There is usually an autosave/backup feature on 3ds Max. You might be able to get your crashed version back.

Aw man i wish someone told me that earlier! :cautious:

Great job on it so far. I think it needs to be taller and thinner!

Yup I noticed that too, thank god for the uniform scale tool.

Edit: Black Hawk Down is on so I'm going to call it a day. But I will leave you with this:

The "Y" line shape seems to be a little big, try shrinking it some. Also the eye holes could be a little bit bigger. That's all I got, but its pretty good! Dancing kitty 4 joo

I took your advice and made the angle slightly less drastic and moved it up a little bit, it really wasn't that far off to begin with though. Here is what I accomplished this afternoon:

Ps:I think its good enough to export but what do you guys think, like I said I'm pretty noobish at all this stuff so just let me know if I'm missing something.

Mouth needs to be more pronounced, eyeslots need to be taller.
In fact, the whole thing needs to be taller. Keep an eye on references when you model. :)

I'm not so sure the whole thing needs to be taller, just a little thinner. But i do see what you mean with the eyes and the mouth. I'll get to work on that.

Sorry bout that guys, I've been busy smoothing my chief helm but i did do some work on the model this afternoon. I exported it so you could get a better look at it.

tell me what you think.

looks good enough that I'd try to put it together. I haven't messed around much with pep though, so have no idea how to go about scaling it. :(
