Man so I've been "making" a master chief costume for like 6 years now and I've always lost interest in and stopped. But along the way I have sorta gotten better each time. I started out with the glorious Pepakura and made loads of stuff and even half an armor set! But I grew bored and eventually let it get trashed. Next came the foam and man, was not prepared for it. Up until the start of this year, I paid someone to cut out the foam for me and it was a total disaster. Upset I spent $325 on foam and to me did not look like it was 300 dollar worthy. At the same time, I was dipping my hand into 3D Printing and thats where we are at now.

3D files are from this wonderful person! Thingiverse - Digital Designs for Physical Objects

Enjoy the photo dump of where I am at so far.

Thats a fine collection off 3d printed stuff you have. Looking forwards to seeing the suit put together. What kind of printer do you have?

I have been jumping around the thought of doing a foam build or a combination of foam and 3d printing but I think I will go for a straight 3d printed build because I know I will give up with the foam. How many print hours have you got to so far with all the pieces related to the suit? Also how much rolls of filliment have you been flying though?

Oh man I think I'm up to my 9th roll. As far as time wise not really sure. Some pieces are 30 hours and the faster was around 10 hours. So its definitely a slow process

I'll be printing my entire suit of armor for my next major ambition build, it's going to be a TON of fillament that I'll be going through as well, especially for testing. What was your fill and wall settings that you used? With the fill and wall thickness, is the armor relatively sturdy and would you tinker with them?

So I have two ender 3's and I print on .28 mm. I actually haven't changed any of the settings because I'm fairly new to printing.

But the wall thickness is .8 mm and the infil is 20%. Its rather sturdy enough I think for normal use
