Hello everyone!

I'm planning to make a suit of space marine armor and reading as much as possible on this awesome website.

My question is regarding making LED eye lenses. Is it possible? Practical? If so what materials (specific lense/LED) should I use so I can still see through the lit lenses.

Here is an example of what I am trying to create:

Specifically the green glowing eyes on the chaos marine. Any tips are appreciated! Thanks in advance.

I've read of people doing this with iron man helmets. Covering the eyes with sunglass lenses, color of your choice, then adding a led or two inside the helmet next to eyes. The only problem i can think of is possible glare issues seeing out of the helmet, but its worth a try.

what you will want to do is cover the eye with a thin white plastic and leave a slip on the bottom of the eye so you can look out. you can install your leds behind plastic and it will glow. I added another plastic sheet over the leds to I was not looking into LEDs the whole day. hope that helps. I can draw up a diagram too.

Any help is greatly appreciated! Pictures would be cool too, I am interested in seeing how yours turned out.

That is pretty epic. And you are able to see out of that?
Do you use any special lense do reduce glare?

i can see out of the helmet. on the back side of the eyes i did have to balck out overything so i did not have leds in my face
