Ok, so i know this topic might anger some of you who follow the whole process of Pepakura, molding, casting and etc. but i have began to mod my helmet into a wearable piece. I have fully disembled it and made sure it fit my head by temporarly securing it with a hot glue gun (removable after, no residue). I've been searching the site for a while now and I have a general plan to follow based on reason (Enlightenment Man)
1)Sand down the tabs that stick out in the inside of the helmet to create more space (use dremel)
2)Somehow secure the pieces in place (hot glue on the outside) while I fiberglass the inside(would that be comfortable for the final? Any better ideas to hold it together?)
3)Fill in open spaces with bondo in order to make it flush?
4)Duel visor (how to secure it in?)
5)Thinking about making a hinge for the black piece that is originally on the bottom and cutting it so it is only the back neck part. Then use magnets to secure it up after putting the helmet on. Thats my best idea so far and no one has tried it so far but i think it could really work well.

Why would this anger anyone? Good luck with the mod, I'm pretty sure I've seen a tutorial on how to do that somewhere.

yeah people have done this before. I think there's a few on the site that have done, just search around. Also, google has a tutorial somewhere.

Ya but every tutorial is pretty bad that i have found around the web. I want it to be higher quality, not held together by some glue and gaps.

Yeah I mean If the Helmet wasn't 120$ and if I had two, then I would do it in a heartbeat.

It could probably be made wearable and be done tidily, you'll just need to experiment with products a bit. IMO it will always look undersized though. Could be great for a child's costume. Good luck

The game, bonus disks, and the helmet were $120.

Most places (if you can find a place that has them) are selling them for around $70.

wwslubs - Buy some thick styrene sheets. You could use this to not only fill gaps, but it would act as a "bridge" between two parts. You could then use bondo to fill and smooth the gaps.

I have drawn a diagram to explain the process.

I'm thinking of making a complete guide on how to do this with what i find to be the best methods. So, if anyone has any ideas just pitch them and i will see how they turn out. A complete guide on how to do this right and plum would be extremely helpfull to others.
