I can not use fiberglass resin (as the noxious fumes), so I decided to make a topic that I (and anyone else) will put alternatives to Fiberglassing armor. (besides the hot glue method)

Here is the List so far:

Paper Mache (I do this)
Homemade Plastic with milk

If you have anything feel free to contribute!

smooth-on smooth cast 305 (I use this)
Aqua-resin
MrOreo's thread on bio plastic (can't find it a t the moment)

hope it helps

Plast'r Craft?
I that stuff sounds familiar!
Last year my school used something like that stuff for a "friendship" project, where we casted different types of handshakes and put them in a display case. Strange thing to do for high school students.

Wo can't you use polyeurothane resin?
I mean yes it's real poison but c'mon! it gets the best results.

Also, If you do it outside, on the lawn, wear gloves and a respirator nothing will happen if you do it right!

I kinda got in a little risk cause I didn't even ask my parents, I just sat down in the garden, and when my mother saw it,
she asked what it was, I explained, and after tellen me a thousand times to be f*cking carefull she allowed it.

Well, it's possible he might live in an apartment (as I do) in the middle of the city with no balcony, no lawn, and no garage. Or his parents forbid him to use anything as toxic as that.

I have a pretty big balcony for an apartment, but it's full of plants, so I think the fumes would kill them, and that would make my wife sad. :( And any open area in the complex is a shared space, so I don't want to endanger anyone walking by.

So...I would have to work at either my parents'-in-law house or a friend's house over weekends when I get to that point. BUT, enough thread jacking. If anyone is interested in homemade bio-plastic, my thread is here. (Thanks for the plug, SteelSpartan!)

When the piece is finished, Take pieces of cardboard cut out, Cover one side in hot glue, and just stick it on, Keep repeating til its as hard as possible, Then afterwards just do another thick layer of hot glue.
Stays pretty hard.

My budget is virtually zero :D
Very little money = no respirator and gloves = no resin

Actually I live of 5 acres of land in the middle of nowhere (so it seems anyway, can't see the neighbors house when the leaves are out)
