But I still think, if someone is really "creative" get a job developing, and get paid for it instead of just labeling yourself a "modder" That's what dev kits are for.
This might not apply to everyone in the bracket, but I don't see any advantage in modding an xbox other than the "OMG, I wanna do that too" perception. I never had the need to back up a game in my life. :D
I like modding because it enables you do do things that a company would never let you put into a game. Random fun/funny things like warthogs with hydrolics, or the "Hammer of Dawn" or a "gravity gun", or crazy texture mods.

I've only had one disk broken. Not my fault, but sometimes you get wild kids in your house, and they end up knocking the games off the shelf, then stepping on them, or puppies, etc. I'd rather be safe than sorry.
