M-247 3D model progress report

so for whatever reason i couldn't post this in the 3d modeling section, all well i guess this will do fer now... Anywho i notice severial requests for Jorge's gun and a took it apon myself to do some research on the weapon in question and heres what i've got so far:

i did alot of drawings in illustrator, to come up with a profile reference. The only problem i'm having at the moment is what the shape is of the gun for the receiver on back, i did find out the caliber of the gun is 7.62x54 oddly enough isn't really a caliber size for a heavy weapon but got to go with what the designers say...... i haven't decide weather to make the ammo case or the belt and drum that Jorge had in the game..... i will keep working on it through out the week..... i also plan on doing the plasma repeater

Dude they made the plasma repeater suck on purpose because the elites have more health. What people really want is a plasma rifle.

Seriously, a repeater is a pistol, it only does as much damage as a plasma pistol. Its a fat pistol.

Now the rifle, that thing is seksy!

lol the plasma rifle is the plasma automatic gun that has been featured in halo ce, halo 2, halo 3, and odst. the plasma repeater is a new weapon in reach that is pretty much a more boxy version of the rifle. and instead of cooling off automaticly, you have to push X. those are pretty much the only differences. and also the damage level.
As for the model request, i think he should do the repeater because ive never seen a file for that so that would be first. i think people would be grateful to have a model instead of a file that can be modified from any other plasma rifle model already made.

Might i suggest using nerf's Vulcan EBF-25 as a basis for your design. Its not quite the same but im sure you could borrow a lot of elements from it. especially the grip. it seems mostly based on the browning 1919 HMG. In fact, with a little work you might even be able to mod a Vulcan into a convincing (though smaller) replica. The way I see it, a good replica would be some hybrid of an M-249 SAW, a M-134 minigun, and Browning 1919. Just some references that may help.
