M7S submachine gun size?

I have spent all day trying to scale my silenced smg correctly to no avail. The length of the normal smg is 62.7 cm, with an additional 23.1cm for the barrel (i think). I set the canvas and image size correctly in photoshop, but when I print the barrel is waaay too big. I have no idea what I'm doing anymore. If anyone knows the size of the silenced smg please let me know, and If you have an actual file I will be thankful beyond words.

Unfortunately, the sizes given by Bungie or in the Halo Nation Wiki are not always very good. For instance, the Halo 3 shotgun is listed at 115cm long by 30cm tall; that's just shy of 4 feet long and 1 foot tall. That's a ridiculous size for a shotgun.

My suggestion is to focus on the grip of the gun. When you get that to a scale that fits your hand, use that scale for the remainder of the gun. When figuring it out, make sure that your hand placement on the grip matches the hand placement of the in-game characters (ie - don't scale it so the last finger on your hand hangs off the grip).

Thanks! That makes a lot of sense now! I'll just scale to what feels right.

After a few tries I think I finally got it right. I decided the SMG to be 43.4 cm long with a barrel of 24.02 cm making the whole SMG 67.42cm long. Should you ever want the scaled file you can find it here.

I modified the size a bit. I used the dimensions from the pep file. Don't know why I hadn't thought of it before. The length is now 27 inches long.
