Yknow, if you just wanted to slap together JediFraz's Mark VI helm, that would work too. It's not too detailed, and the visor in there means even if you screw up, it won't, like collapse.
I know this from experience. Helmets are HARD. Pep would be your best bet. And don't start with a chest-piece. If you plan on making the whole armor ANYWAY, start with arms, the move your way down to legs. I suggest going biceps > Forearms > Thighs > Ankles.
The ankles are the most complex limb portion, so you want as much practice as possible before moving on to them.
In addition, the knives where you break off the ends as it gets dull, are gret. They're very sharp, and help you make those precision cuts more accurately.
