i wanted to say that but i was shy. thank you Twitch for telling the world how i want this topic to be. you really helped me alot.

Everyone has already stolen the words from my tongue and helped you as much as possible.

DO PEP. Easier, better, more reliable, and cheaper, cardstock-wise.

Just do the FS size tester helm, to start. Then move on, maybe a DF4L helmet. If you want even less Bondo, then move on to FS's second to last or last HD helmet.

It is NOT as tedious as cardboard, actually. It is quite the opposite.

Do you guys really think hes being serious asking what he can do to make it better? ITS A JOKE.
There are noobs out there, give them time, they will learn.

And I have to agree 100 % with Ima.
Pep, great, easy, accurate, awesome.

ITS PEPTASTIC!

that is what i would call constructive criticism. thanks for coming right out and not saying "this helmet sucks." or "wow this helmet is awesome. not."
i will try my hand at the MRK. V chest first. then ill try the mrk IV to make an armour perm.

JUST TRY PEP.

Dude, how much "advice" do you f***ing need?! Just try it before you burn my eyes with one of your "creations" again!

You are seriously annoying me with your obviously distorted vision. Quit acting like royalty and listen to the armorers of the community! (Keegan, CPU, Finnish, etc.)

And, no, the Mark V is NOT simple, but you wouldn't know that. You haven't looked at MOZ'S FILE EXTRACTED STRAIGHT FROM THE GAME.

Yknow, if you just wanted to slap together JediFraz's Mark VI helm, that would work too. It's not too detailed, and the visor in there means even if you screw up, it won't, like collapse.
I know this from experience. Helmets are HARD. Pep would be your best bet. And don't start with a chest-piece. If you plan on making the whole armor ANYWAY, start with arms, the move your way down to legs. I suggest going biceps > Forearms > Thighs > Ankles.
The ankles are the most complex limb portion, so you want as much practice as possible before moving on to them.
In addition, the knives where you break off the ends as it gets dull, are gret. They're very sharp, and help you make those precision cuts more accurately.

How's that for decent advice? :p

And I'm sorry for the match comment. It was just... so... tempting....

Honestly, I don't think there's anything you can do to fix it without restarting. Maybe taping it to make it symmetrical, resin it, then break out the bondo/power sander would help, but it'd just be easier to start a new one with some reference pics. We have a lot in the gallery. http://405th.com/forums/index.php?act=modu...;module=gallery

@Deathwasp : Those knives are exacto-knives, I've been using one on my 'secret' project... :)

Oh, dude, I love that. What model did you use for those hand plates? They're great. But to be honest, your head should be in your hands.

which is why i am leaving 405th for as long as i feel fit.
if i make one or 2 posts that doesnt mean im back.

I read it, and let me say if people are being assholes about your armor then let them be assholes. Trust me when i say that this hobby takes a lot of hard work and honestly really has nothing to do with natural ability. You just have to learn to think out side of the box and learn from your mistakes. Just remember practice makes perfect.

ps. sorry for the "bad words" but it helped me get my point across.

Jihad is right it is hard work, and these guys were all being jerks to you, but some gave you some good advice that you just ignored completly, i think that you should not leaved the foeum cause of what like 13 people said out of 3,000 members. trust me stay and do pepakura. put your blood, sweat, and tears, into a suit, and show these people that you truely have what it takes to be a better spartan, than some of thos jerks. That would be the ultimate revenge!
