Alright so I’m making this thread to document my Mark V (B) suit from Reach, and hopefully show how anyone can make a beautiful suit with a mix of methods, materials, and machines.

Gonna try to keep this one as up to date as my Instgram page is.

So here’s what I’ve got so far:

Mark V Helmet

& Raw Prints of the following

Operator Shoulders
Hand Plates
One Thigh Piece

More is printing, if this interests you check by every so often as I update it!

First time foamsmithing with this build, so here’s something small…

How am I doing so far?

Got me some gauntlets! Bracers are printing now, and the second thigh piece as well. Looking to get the CR10 running again tomorrow to get it chugging along on the chest!

Looking great so far. Is there room for the visor with your head in it? In armorsmith it looks like your nose would be sticking out of the helmet. Unless it's just like that in the program. Foam work is looking good as well.

Plenty of room in the helmet! Armorsmith is just a little odd about it, I made sure I would have space for my visor, padding, and electronics!

One bracer printed and visor fitted! Hoping to learn to chrome visors, or find someone to chrome it on commission

Abdomen pieces trimmed down! Gonna throw either some elastic on one side and a zipper on the other, or just elastic on both!

That thing looks awesome! Did you make it yourself?
Sadly, no. I got a darn good deal for the physical rubber one NerdForge sells and used a bonus to buy it. Great quality, I would’ve modded by Ender 5 Plus and printed it from TPU had I not bought it

Aaand I’ve got thigh pieces! Just started printing one of the shin pieces and I’m currently sanding the forearms, hoping to get most of what’s printed sanded this weekend

If you look at my profile picture, I tinted/chromed that visor myself. Just simply dyed it with idie poly then sprayed the inside with alclad 107 (airbrushed) and because it was such a pain in the ass visor I needed a dusting of spazstix chrome from a rattle can as well. But a normal style visor like yours would be fine with just one of those options I would imagine. It's not as good as say a justin branfuhr visor, but it's definitely pretty shiny.

That visor does look pretty darn good, I'll have to look into that stuff and see if I can't get this visor looking nice

This is one of those learning experiences you have, today mine was finding out just how easily PETG sands! Gonna definitely be using this material on future builds, like my revamped Mark VII suit when this one is done.

Looking good so far. A couple of us on here have printed NerdForgeDesigns' armor (myself included), so it's cool to see the progress from another

Did a test fit on the thigh pieces and they’re great! The video is the solution I’m using for holding them up, originally came up with by NerdForge for his suit.

New post alert! So I have one shin printed, and it passed the test fit! I’m using elastic to hold the shins up, and they’re attached to velcro to make it easy to suit up
