Update: My left arm is pepped, and about halfway on the codpiece.

Evening, friends!

So I've decided to make 2 helmets for my suit, just in case I decide to change it up for cons and stuff. So-on instinct- I chose EOD as my secondary helmet. I'm about 50% done pepping it, and (not to brag) I think its one the tightest pep jobs I've ever done.

Those brown lines are toothpicks. My first helmet I ever tried (MK VI HD) failed because I had no way to keep the straight surfaces, well, straight.

The EOD is sick! Excellent job on the pepping and great idea using the toothpicks like that to keep everything straight. Can't wait to see this helmet finished! Keep it up, we're rootin' for ya!

Evening folks, here is the latest update from my end.

A cheap pair of sunglasses provided the perfect eye shields.

I put thin rubber tubes around the eye edges to soften the angles and make it look more manufactured.

The sunglasses also provided a good nose pad.

I'm going to buy some black window tinting film and make these some alternate lenses for variety.

The sizing worked out pretty good. Lol this is the first picture with me in it on this site.

What a great idea with those glasses combined with the rbhber. I envy you for being able to use such a simple method. I'm building a JFO helmet and I had to find a special visor for it to actually work out.

Yeah I'm not looking forward to building the default Mark VI helmet, especially the visor.

I've never Bondo-d the outside of my pieces before. But now I see why people do it.

This is rough still but it is 9000x easier to shape and smooth. I will be bonding the outside of everything from here on out. I hope to have this whole suit done by Halloween 2013.

I have just begun bondoing my own helmet and i find it to be so much more enjoyable as compared to the resining stage.

Hey guys. Before I went for my big ski weekend, I decided to color coat my EOD helmet.

Some spot putty for the really noticeable dips and defects....

All masked up and nowhere to go.

Wait for it....

Voila! No lenses in it just yet, and I've got some decals to apply. Stay tuned!

i just have a qq; and i'm not trying to sound like an a$$ but are you going to round off the edges or just leave them blocky? Again I dont mean to offend, just curious.

No worries.

I rounded the top of the helmet but as for the rebreathers(or whatever the hell they are), I'm gna leave them sharp cuz, well, I think it just looks cool.
I'm never going to make the Elite showcase lol. I dont have the skill, time, or money to really make "perfect" armor, but if I'm close enough to what I want, I'm happy.

Well aside from interior padding, my EOD helmet is complete!

And the ultimate finishing touch....

The decal didnt turn out as bad as I had dreaded.

I like the sharpness too, was just wondering what you were going to do. Nice decal, did you make it yourself? Also, dont be so hard on yourself, you could make the elite with that helm, its really good.

Yes I did. I picked up some decal paper at Hobbytown USA (but you can get it at any craft store), and put together the design myself. I did the same thing for the UNSC logo here:

Although I think I'm going to strip it off and replace it with the post-war logo cuz' its a little more detailed and badass-looking.

These decals you're making yourself are awesome! Maybe this is a dumb question, but this is the noob forum, so I'll shoot: how are you doing that? I know you said you got decal paper, but I don't understand how that translates to ultra-sharp designs.

Also, just curious: what made you go with high def forearms and low def shoulders? I have been thinking about re-doing my forearms, but if you made that switch because the high def ones are a big pain in the ass, I might just say forget it.
